Wela's Studio & Gallery

With the New Year 2020 Wela announces the opening of its new Studio-Gallery in Gasny in Upper Normandy.

Located in Vexin Normande between Giverny (5 km), famous Claude Monet Foundation, Museum of Impressionism and La Roche-Guyon (3 km), its Castle and cliffs of the Seine, Wela’s Studio-Gallery is highly symbolic for the artist, extension of art history and rapprochement with nature.

Throughout the 19th century, the Impressionists, attracted by the still preserved landscapes and the rivers, crossed the countrys around Paris. In the South, Barbizon was marked by pre-impressionists: Millet, Corot, Rousseau, Daubigny, Dupré. In other villages like Moret-sur-Loing Sisley rubbed Sisley with Pissarro, in Louveciennes painted Renoir and Monet.

In the North, in Auvers-sur-Oise settled Daubigny, Vincent Van Gogh, in Giverny Claude Monet, in Vernon Pierre Bonnard ... The list goes on. The artists are invited each other to paint together, of which we have many representations of cities and villages around Paris, or in Normandy.

Today there are more and more artists who leave Paris to settle in the countryside, far from the bustle of the big city. Wela is an example.

No wonder, the artist has long been inspired by nature and the interdependence of man and the surrounding environment. The house allows Wela not only to work there, but also to exhibit there. Her dream is to interact with other artists, to exhibit, to work together. Interested in ecology Wela also wants to make a permaculture vegetable garden.

Liaison with nature will certainly give birth to new interesting artistic works.
