Welcome to My Nightmare

Welcome to My Nightmare

I knew there was a reason why I never watched this show when it was on. But I got a great, big reminder this morning....................................

Picture it: I am having a hard time sleeping so I turn on the tv. I see these 4 ladies on E! and think, "well, let's see if this'll put me to sleep." Yeah, no. I remember now why I don't like anything about this show that I cringe to think has molded the way our female population thinks and behaves. And sees men.

They are lying manipulators. With very low standards for their own behavior. They make men look impotent and incompetent and selfish and stupid. And basically it all comes back down to this: the only people a woman can trust are her own girlfriends. Who are also lying manipulators who feel sorry for themselves.

Women actually watched this stuff? And then wonder why they're miserable and alone? I wonder how much of this show the women in this country actually agree with. By the time I was done watching this episode, where Carrie was cheating on her boyfriend with a man who was cheating on his wife with her, and Miranda lied about her job (because apparently no man can handle a truly successful woman like her?--she's a lawyer) to get laid, and Charlotte's fiance was impotent before their wedding, so she was starting to question walking down the aisle with him, I was angry and in shock.

Men are not weak and selfish and threatened by successful women. Not real men. Like the one I married. People constantly tell me I'm "lucky" to have him. No. I just have high standards that I maintain so I can proactively find someone who measures up to them. And I consistently give to him more than I take; that's part of my high personal standards that--more importantly--I hold myself to.

Women who lie and cheat and manipulate are never going to be happy. Period. Because they'll always be alone--even when they're "with someone".

Because they're going to end up with selfish men who are stupid. I just wish shows like this didn't make it seem like that's the entire male and female population. Because it makes them angry and defensive and suspicious and divisive.

Ladies, if you want to believe things like what this show depicts, you'll end up like these ladies. Is that really what you want?

Gentlemen, if you want better women than these, let me know! I'm actually considering creating a webinar of how to keep people like the ones in this picture away. They are not the entire American female population. Just the majority of it--for now.

The show is a comedy, folks! It is a parody; the same type of humor that Seinfeld and Friends or Always Sunny display. Nobody takes these women seriously. Yet in every stereotype or parody lies also an ounce of truth, or it would not resonate. Maybe less judgement and more laughter?

I appreciate your transparency, Gabrielle. Thank you for sharing your "nightmare" with us. And thanks for your shot of confidence. There are still more good men and women, than bad ones, even in our world today! So, thank you! Blessings!

Thanks you for this. I never could watch this show, because the female leads seemed to have time to make their own coal. Their boredom was a catalyst for their manipulation and lying, and I found it offensive.
