Wellness Moments | Sound Meditation

Its soothing experience rests somewhere in the velvet-like space between sound and hallucination; the humming of brass singing bowls stimulating each energy centers in a carefully orchestrated pace and rhythm and the hypnotic suggestions that takes one into a journey, floating like dandelions.

I begin the session by introducing the guest to the energy centers through the colours of a rainbow and connecting them with its respective sound. The bowls are all of different notes, and with its introduction and the corresponding hypnotic induction, the guest begin to feel its connection, allowing themselves to let the sound vibrate the energy centers.

It then follows a synchronized reading of bowls, the ding-dongs and the humming, in a systematic method that as a result energizes the Chakras.

Lying down allowing oneself to bathe in the sound of these bowls, for one full hour, was for Katherine an experience of flying, while Magita felt heaviness in her body, fallen on the floor, finding it heavy to lift up, or not wanting to rise - the signs that she is no more carrying her body, rather, allowing herself to let go, also indicating the openness of a balanced Root Chakra.

When you discern the sound from the noise, when knotted energies are unbundled by paying attention, you awaken an inevitable awareness of this moment, establishing an inexpressible bond that's hard to let go.

The sensations are momentary, or might only last for the length of your stay at the retreat. Nonetheless, it is for sure an experience that allows you to balance and find an inner alignment, totally relaxing, bringing together the mind, body and soul on one tangent.

Sound meditation is for mind what is 'Shirodhara' for the body.
