What is eeki’s Farming Technology all about?

Eeki has innovated a sustainable farming technology that allows low-cost production of high-quality vegetables. Premium vegetables should be grown and available for consumption throughout the year, and our revolutionary farming technology makes it possible.

First Step Towards Sustainable Agriculture

Our first farm at Rangpur, Kota

We received our seed funding in 2019. With the help of those funds, we started our first R&D farm in Rangpur, Kota. The farm was built on 10,000 square feet of land. We used this farm as a pilot project to understand whether our farming technology could be implemented on a large scale, and we were successful.

And now, all our farms are equipped with eeki’s farming technology, which includes our patented growing chambers and our patent-pending IoT control mechanism. Let us understand it in detail:

Patented Growing Chambers

Our patented growing chambers

1) Medium-Less Environment-

  • Our growing chambers provide the ideal environment for the plant’s root zone without using any growing media (soil or coco-peat). By eliminating the use of soil, there is no risk of soil-borne infections. But can plants grow without soil?
  • Yes, absolutely. The roots are suspended directly in our growing chambers, where nutrient-rich and RO-purified water is circulated at regular intervals. In this manner, roots receive optimal amounts of nutrients as per the specific requirements of the crop.

2) Top-Class Growing Conditions-

  • The growing chambers create an ambient growing temperature and humid conditions that help stimulate optimal growth of the plant. We are able to achieve this because of the excellent insulation properties of the material used to construct the growing chambers.
  • They are also able to maintain the required pH and electrical conductivity (EC) that enhance faster growth and facilitate a higher yield than traditional farming practices.

Patent-Pending IoT Control Mechanism

IoT sensor installed in our Nanta farm

Our IoT control mechanism has enabled us to automate all the vitals of the farm, like irrigation, climate management, and data management. After years of research, we have developed cost-effective and reliable IoT devices that are responsible for monitoring all the farm vitals on a daily basis.

1) Farm IoT Architecture-

  • The Sensor - Farm data like ambient temperature and humidity are automatically recorded and transferred to the master device.
  • The Master – This device is connected to an internet server. The data received from the sensor is analysed on the server, and eventually, intelligent and data-driven decisions are taken. Accordingly, the master instructs the controllers to execute the operations.
  • The Controller – This device controls the cooling system in the farms, which consists of cooling pads, exhaust fans, and circulation fans. And it does so depending on instructions from the master device in order to keep the farm's climate optimal.

As a result, the farm is always at a desired climate and we are able to cultivate all kinds of seasonal vegetables throughout the year.

2) Automated Irrigation-

  • The only source of nourishment given to the roots is through RO-purified water, to which all the required nutrients are added.
  • This nutrient-rich water is circulated from the water tank to our growing chambers at regular intervals. Enough time is given for the roots to absorb the nutrition from the water before it is recirculated.
  • The whole process is controlled by our IoT mechanism, without any human intervention.

As a result, we save more than 80% of water compared to traditional farming.

Our Mission and Vision

Since starting our first farm, we have been growing at an exponential rate. Today we have 4 operational farms in Rajasthan viz; Nanta & Rangpur in Kota, Talera in Bundi, and in Bhilwara. And 40 acres of projects are under development, which will be operational in the next 6 months.

Eeki envisions a world free of malnutrition in which healthy & nutritious vegetables are affordable and accessible to everyone. To achieve our goal, we want to set up thousands of acres of farms across different geographies in India and build technology that allows production of high-quality vegetables throughout the year.
