What introverts like you are struggling with the most - and how you can find the solution!

What introverts like you are struggling with the most - and how you can find the solution!

For the past month or so, I've been inviting my newsletter and email subscriber audiences to complete a survey called, Help Me, Help You.

The results are in and I wanted to share some of the key findings with you, as I believe these insights may be valuable for you to know.

Firstly, the survey asked about:

  • Their biggest problem, or struggle, at the moment
  • The biggest change they'd like to make
  • What they desire most in life right now

As well as how they consume content, and for general feedback on my newsletters and emails. I also provided space for participants to tell me anything else they felt I should know.

So let's have a look at the results together:

Problems that introverts face

I chose three suggested areas for the answer to the question, 'What is your BIGGEST problem right now?' based on what I've seen from my introverted coaching clients, as well as the DMs I receive from my audience:

  1. Coping with burnout/ overwhelm
  2. A lack of confidence/ limiting beliefs
  3. Having to work in an office/ not enjoying work

I then also provided an 'other' option.

Whilst over half of the participants chose 'other', there were areas of commonality within the responses here: participants were either struggling with relationships, the need to improve their client value proposition/ client base or with time/ organisation/ getting stuck in routines.

Over one third of participants struggle with their confidence and limiting beliefs. Additionally, in the space where they were free to tell me anything, several participants asked for my content to provide more quick or bitesized tips on how to boost their confidence.

Whilst only 7.7% of participants struggled with burnout and/ or overwhelm, those who responded that their problem was time/ organisation/ routines that don't serve them risk experiencing burnout and overwhelm in the future.

I'm sharing these results as it's likely that, if you're reading this, you are most likely experiencing one - or more - of the above problems.

And I want you to know that you're not alone.

I started my business venture in the introversion niche precisely because my time at Google showed me that introverts globally were struggling with confidence and limiting beliefs.

This has been my struggle too, and as I've come a LONG way in my own journey (I remain a work in progress, as we all are), that's when I decided I wanted to help others with what I named authentic confidence: understanding yourself and your strengths and having the tools to overcome limiting beliefs and achieve your goals without changing who you are, or wearing a mask.

I'm literally unrecognisable compared to the person I used to be: I've built trust in myself; I've learnt to set boundaries; I no longer talk down to myself and am not phased by speaking on any stage.

I developed a toolkit of what has worked for me, and used it in my coaching. I also developed several digital products designed to empower introverts, helping them to develop authentic confidence.

A surprising result

Whilst no participant chose 'having to work in an office/ not enjoying your work' as the answer to their biggest problem, interestingly when it came to their desires and the biggest change they wanted to make right now a significant number described wanting to change their job, get a better job, change their working location or have the 'financial freedom to travel more'.

In other words, most respondents are unhappy in their current work and seem to stay there due to the need to feel financially secure: they crave more freedom, autonomy and income.

Sound familiar?

I know that describes my own journey too.

The other aspect of these results that stood out was, when asked about whether they would find value in a community or membership group, responses were equally divided between a yes and a no as they don't have the energy and find groups draining. Perhaps not surprising given the demographic!

The solution

Regardless of the problem, the solution to all the problems these survey respondents reported shares a common foundation:

Self awareness.

To be more confident, manage your time and energy, improve your relationships and business and gain clarity on the right job for you the first step is always to develop self awareness.

So, before anything else, start working on getting to know and understand yourself.

  • What are your values?
  • What are your strengths?
  • What are your core beliefs - and limiting beliefs?
  • Which activities energise you - and which drain you?

Once you know yourself, the path forward will become clear and you will be in a much stronger position to replace your problem with your desire.

If you would like a little help with this process, then my Introvert Empowerment Bundle is just what you need. Get yours here.

My coaching slots are very limited at the moment, and I have a waiting list, but if you're interested in exploring whether we're a fit to work together please DM me.

The winner

A HUGE thank you to everyone who took the time to complete my survey: you're the real MVPs and I appreciate you.

I'll be randomly-selecting the winner of a coaching session with myself over the next few days and will reach out directly (I'll seek permission before sharing any names).

All your comments have been noted and I'll be using them to inform my newsletter and email content going forward.

Your thoughts

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the results of the survey: please let me know in the comments whether anything surprised you.

Please feel free to share this newsletter with anyone it may help.

Thank you 💛

Much love,

Sam

Love this. We innies are really sensitive to overstimulation and often feels like burnout. Dopamine is not our friend like it is for extroverts. Got to unplug, literally!
