Why are Project Managers like Master Chef in a restaurant?

What PMs and Chefs have in common?

Planning and Preparation: Just like a master chef plans the menu and prepares ingredients in advance, a project manager plans the project scope, timeline, and resources to ensure everything is ready for execution.

Project Management is defined around certain terms. All PMs speak a similar language due to the terms we know and use. Here is my top 30 PM term list. I hope nothing new to you :-)

Three Thoughts on Project Management:

  1. Leadership and management

  1. The Digital Project Manager website just published a PM Salary Guide for 2024. The guide provides average salaries by county, by sector, and by seniority level. There is lots of information  including how satisfied PMs are with their roles. Worth the read!
  2. What motivates you and your team members? A recent study shows that relationships are a key driver of fulfillment at work. One way we can build and reinforce relationships is through recognition and praise. However, recognition can often be a double-edged sword. Read more about the dark side of workplace recognition.
