10moThere are so many applications for SMED in a manufacturing environment. It just applies to manufacturing right? NO. Let’s look at farming. John Deere and other tractors manufacturers have even applied it to their front end loaders. Less than 5 minutes to go from a bucket or scoop to a pallet attachment and then to a round bale spear. The end customer the farmer wins because of the adaptability of the tractor he has bought. My guess is farmer doesn’t feel he is being conned. He feels he has more time to get stuff done. If anyone is open to learning about the concepts with an open mind, you can apply it to other business processes as well. 😊
