What Your Next Music Festival Experience Is Going To Sound Like (ft. All Access Anonymous)
What do you want from a Music Festival?
A stellar lineup filled with your favourite artists?
Quirky activations & props for that perfect Instagram upload?
Some good company? Or possibly the chance to make new friends? ;)
These are the most basic expectations we all have as fans. But there lies the whole problem - we’re not really in control of any of them.
Corporates, platforms, and resellers dictate ticket prices. Lineups keep changing. Above all, you can never be sure of the arrangements at the venue… What safety measures may be in place, if there are available hygiene stations, what F&B options are on offer, and a whole lot more questions are always left unanswered.
As fans have no say in the decision making process, many music festival promoters find it difficult to meet the expectations of the fans, which ultimately tarnishes the brand’s reputation.
Take the 2017 Fyre Festival that left people stranded on an island. Or the recent Bruce Springsteen 2023 tour announcement that saw tickets surging to $5000 (RM 22,000) on Ticketmaster. The recent Billie Eilish concert in KL, which left fans feeling hoodwinked after 'deceptive' seating charts were used to sell tickets.
There are explanations on both sides of the fence (promoters & fans) on these incidents, but the overarching theme here is transparency & accountability to fan and promoter.
The problem here in lies a me vs you.
My money vs your delivery.
You deceived me.
Don't we deserve better?
Don't fans need to know what they are paying for? Why they are paying such exorbitant amounts?
Don't promoters need to work with verified network partners and have access to 'smart money' that do not require intemediateries & corporates impending the risk on us and find a better way to communicate and reward fans?
We started building All Access Anonymous - a Web 3.0 platform powered with the sole aim of making music festivals decentralized, fair, and accessible to all stakeholders.
And we are humbled and proud to have nine of your most loved music festival brands in S.E.A have already joined our network. This includes ‘We the Fest’, ‘S2O’, ‘Djakarta Warehouse Project’, ‘Ravolution’, ‘It’s The Ship’, ‘Rockaway’, ‘Good Vibes Festival’, ‘Together Festival,’ and ‘808 Festival.’
36+ additional brands are also being onboarded, and are set to be announced soon.
What exactly are we doing for them?
In this post, I want to look at our mission from YOUR perspective - yes, you, the thrill seeker…
Change No. 1: The Crowd gets the Say
In AAA, Gone are the days when you wait for the festival to announce its lineup, and then proceed to rush to buy the ticket and act as a 'buystander'.
AAA gives promoters Social Surveying & Listening Tools, through which they can literally ask you to vote for your favorite artists, venue, ticket price. Your opinion and taste in music WILL matter. And this has an effect on what you pay in the end.
It can also lead to the discovery of local talent that would otherwise get overlooked because promoters often don’t have access to what's good on the ground.
Going further, say you’re in the mood to have a cool Hawaiian or a forest/jungle theme for the event - that’s something you can gather support for - and the promoters may make it happen.
Promoters can also:
By letting fans express their desires & creativity, we’re essentially changing the way a music festival is conceptualised from the Day 01.
Now, with AAA, real fans get a real say on music festivals they love, and in turn allows promoters to get real feedback, real insight and reward them.
Change No. 2: Supporting Independent Creators
To add to the previous point about supporting local talent, AAA also has its own Not-for -Profit “Creators’ Fund” of sorts, to back folks who want to organize their live event without depending on:
Recommended by LinkedIn
Once we go through the artist’s proposal & approve its merit, the creator can get a loan with minimal interest rates, empowering them to bring their vision to life without giving up power to other stakeholders.
Then it's over to the fans. Imagine supporting your talented singer friend in hosting her first-ever live concert - it’ll be a game-changer for their careers.
In fact, as the creator will have complete freedom to work directly with their community, each event can have its own unique flavor, customized by fans in every region of their tour.
Usually, creators get diminishing returns after a majority of the sales revenue from fans has been scalped by the ticketing platform, conglomerates, sponsors, agents, and other intermediaries - who all demand their cut or threaten to go with other options.
Malaysia’s local art scene got lukewarm due to no support from the Government during the pandemic, essentially being deemed “non-essential.”
So an initiative like AAA, which allocates real resources to local artists, is not just an option, it’s the solution.
Change No. 3: Boosting Trust & Security
Once the planning is done, how do you know you’ll get the experience you’re paying for?
This is where AAA’s verified seal comes into the picture. Our insider network curates all stakeholders required, to pull off a live event on a massive scale.
AAA’s foundation is built on mutual trust & collaboration. We’re vetting & curating the best creators, fans, artists, agents, venues, marketing agencies, production companies, and more.
The outcome? A constantly growing community of passionate people who all want the same thing - to deliver unforgettable experiences.
Change No. 4: Tokenizing the Community
Obviously, we saved the best for the last.
With AAA’s Web 3.0 platform, promoters can sell NFTickets (event passes in the form of NFTs).
This has two fundamental advantages.
Firstly, we’ve all heard stories of how scammers on Facebook or other secondary marketplaces duped a friend into buying fake tickets. With NFTickets, the promoters can exercise control over their flow, and buyers can verify every ticket’s legitimacy, prior to adding them to their wallets.
Secondly, unlike physical tickets that can get lost or face wear & tear over the years, NFTs can act as permanent, lifetime gate passes to the promoter’s curated collection of events.
As a fan, you can also use the NFTicket to gain access to:
These dynamic NFTs also record your entire event experience - and can be a collection of memories of sorts for you to keep.
Feel free to show off these tokens on your socials or flip them for cash. We’ve already tested this concept on our It’s The Ship IP, and our DuckDrop was a massive success - we even hosted a party IRL spectacle to celebrate it.
With AAA’s NFTickets & other Web3 tools, you as a fan are dealing directly with the core organizers of the event - free from any intermediary or external power. For the organizers, this is beneficial too, because it allows them to tap into their community’s circles by incentivizing fans to make the show happen (as they want it).
So on both ends, there’s 100% transparency in pricing, rewards, and every other aspect of the show from start to end.
Conclusion: Wen launch?
