WHEN THE WHEELS START FALLING OFF!
Well, it's not all a bed of roses in the Podcast Garden, Authors. Every now and then a Host will have a bad day just like the rest of us. The questions presented to you might have an edge to them, a hint of bias, or a vibe that he/she doesn't believe in what you are sharing.
This is not a time to panic. Most of the time you are being recorded, and not all editors are generous, or on your side. I've had to slow my usual spiel down on several occasions and check what's really going on. It can be a good time to start asking some diverting questions of your own. Never get in a pissing match with a Podcast Host.
Taking a breath and lowering my voice seems to help. An innocent smile can be useful - anything to bring the pressure back a notch is the goal. If you've hit a nerve, switch the topic to something less controversial.

I've learned the hard way to steer clear of a Podcast Host whose audience is most likely going to react unfavorably to my message. Hosts need their followers, but there are always more guests out there. You don't want the Host entertaining his tribe at your expense.
In a couple of my early Podcast choice mistakes, the featured photo of me picked to advertise our episode was decidedly awful! One had me making a "prune face" and the other featured a "hand-waving, raving maniac". You can't pull those back in, folks. They are out there in Internet Land forever!
I hope you are finding these friendly Podcast Guest tips useful, and they help enhance your experience with a genre that is effective in bringing you more book sales, and positive notoriety, when used with some care.
