Where to be to stay on top of sustainability & scope 3 in 2023...

I've been saying "yes" too much recently...

But there's just too many good events and activities in sustainability and procurement coming up - and we need that insight, best-practice and tools more than ever. And I love the sound of my voice too much...

Here's a run-down (and some discount codes) of some great opportunities coming up to network, learn and take action:

WORLD SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT DAY (www.wspd.earth) - 21 MARCH - FREE

An epic 24 hours of free knowledge, tools and networking - for procurement, by procurement - that is truly international. Don't just sign up yourself, but invite your procurement colleagues to find sessions relevant to them. Finally, leverage World Sustainable Procurement Day to run your own internal communications - or even with your suppliers/customers. The mission of The Sustainable Procurement Pledge is to get 1 million procurement professionals to evidence new/more sustainable ways of working by 2030. Get involved.

RESPONSIBLE SOURCING & ETHICAL TRADE FORUM (LONDON) - 29-30 MARCH -
20% DISCOUNT (OHURREY20)

Innovation Forum put on very high-quality events and I'm delighted to be speaking/chairing at this event in London and meeting many good friends and contacts in person. I'll be facilitating sessions on how to support procurement to be more responsible and covering work being done by The Sustainable Procurement Pledge and the Indirect Spend Alliance .

ECONOMIST IMPACT'S SUSTAINABILITY WEEK (LONDON & ONLINE) 29-31 MARCH -
I HAVE TWO FREE PASSES...

I'm delighted to be chairing (yet another) scope 3 panel and sharing my experiences from leading the Scope 3 Peer Group and together with a great line-up of speakers. I currently have two free passes - but that may well be gone imminently!

CIPS SUSTAINABLE PROCUREMENT SUMMIT (LONDON & ONLINE) 19-20 APRIL
25% DISCOUNT CODE (0H1308)

CIPS - The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply put on one of the best conferences for sustainable procurement and after chairing last year in London, I was delighted to be asked back again to support this year. One of the best events of the year. It's fantastic to see the professional body of procurement focusing on sustainability and The Sustainable Procurement Pledge is proudly partnering. I'll be also facilitating a scope 3 session that will share news and results of the Scope 3 Peer Group 's Maturity Benchmark (developed in partnership with Proxima ):

CLIMATE TRANSFORMATION SUMMIT (ONLINE) 11-12 MAY (PAID-FOR)

I'll be hosting a deep-dive workshop on the 12th May at this very good online event, focused on the scope 3 lessons learned from The Sustainable Procurement Pledge , the Scope 3 Peer Group & the Indirect Spend Alliance and highlighting the great work of TfS - TOGETHER FOR SUSTAINABILITY AISBL on their product carbon footprint guidelines.

FUTURE OF CLIMATE ACTION: HOW TO TACKLE SCOPE 3 (ONLINE) - 12-14 JUNE

I'll be back with Innovation Forum again in June and online, discussing best-practice progress on scope 3 and helping to encourage faster and more confident action, including members and speakers from the Scope 3 Peer Group .

Finally, if you missed the excellent month of insight that was THE SHIFT - run by SupplyShift, a Sphera company - you can view all the recordings here:

I'm sure there will be more! If you're attending any good events or conferences, please post them below and hopefully this can be a good guide for the year ahead. See you there!

However, don't attend if you don't plan to put into action what you learn...!

(Also, sorry if I've forgotten anything I'm supposed to be doing...!)

That's a pretty exhausting schedule, there Oliver Hurrey. I'll see you at the CIPS event (for which, thanks for the handy discount code!)

Maybe it's time we all stayed at home and lead by example Oliver Hurrey - plant based, powered by renewable electricity, no flights or driving.... just maybe, behaviours to shift Scope 3 starts with us? #behaviourchange #emissionsreduction
