Which Books have made an impact on how i do business?
#1 Profit First
There are quite a few books that have impacted my approach to business. However, one book, Profit First by Mike Michalowicz, taught me to focus not only on growth but also on the importance of paying yourself first instead of reinvesting all business earnings into growth. As business people, we often use whatever cash is available solely to increase the company's revenue and the number of employees. Profit First changed my perspective, teaching me to prioritize profit and personal compensation.
Running a business can be very exhausting, especially when it grows beyond a certain point and brings numerous challenges. Prioritizing personal compensation ensures that you are rewarding yourself first, instead of waiting years to take cash out. I personally recommend this book to many business owners, as I see that most businesses tend to pay themselves only after covering all expenses, and often end up never paying themselves anything substantial during their entire business lifespan
#2 The E-Myth Revisited
This book talks about working on the business rather than in the business. Successful businesses are built on processes and systems. The idea of driving the business rather than the business driving you. The creation of business that can run without the owners presence is a goal that we should strive for in business.
This book provides a roadmap for turning a small business into an efficient organization with strong processes and systems.
