Whisky Sour
Welcome back, or if it’s your first time here, take a seat, and I’ll fix you a drink.
Today, we are going to look at a Whisky Sour.
This, apparently is a sailors drink, whisky and citrus, you have to fight scurvey off somehow!?
Let's start with some ingredients:
What Glass should I use,…
What hardware do I need?
Directions - Let's do this; let's make a drink!
In the shaker add some ice cubes.
Add 2 oz whisky.
Add 2 oz sours.
Close your Shaker, and Shake.
In each glass add crushed ice.
If you want a basic drink then strain it over the fresh ice in the glass, serve with a cherry on a stick rested across the rim of the glass.
For a more complex one, crack an egg (carefully) and separate out the white, else buy a carton of egg whites.
After we’ve shaken the sours and whisky together, open the shaker and add in the egg whites.
Close the shaker, then shake again for at least 30 seconds
The shaker is gonna get real cold and possibly slippy when you do this!
This emulsifies the egg and activates the protein; it changes the density of the drink and adds a note or flavor.
It also gives it a nice foamy head, but always ask people first - not everyone is down with a raw egg in their drink.
Enjoy
Tips
Use these cherries - they are awesome.
Use these sticks - bulk buy them - they look cute and work in so so many drinks.
I agree with Nick. Your Moscow Mule was a damn good one. Hope you're doing well in your current position.

1yI remember when you made my first Whiskey Sour back at Splunk! But... Your Moscow Mule has been the best I've had so far! 👌😍😁

1yLooks great! If you really want to lean into the egg foam, give your beverage a dry shake before shaking again with ice. Cheers!
