WHO ARE THE LEADERS YOU ADMIRE

I do a lot of leadership trainings for various organizations. One of the key things I ask the audience first off is, "Who are the leaders you admire?".

First, we often think of the famous people. I thought of Oprah and the Ruth Bader Ginsburg. A lot of people come up with names of famous people. There is a lot of them and a lot of great ones.

Then there are others who are the leaders you admire, who've made a difference in your life, whom you have admired as leaders in your careers, possibly as a kid if they were your coaches, your teachers. My sixth grade teacher was amazing.

I also think about my mom who early on as I was building Slater Success sat me down and asked me key questions of what's my vision for this company.

How do I see scaling? Is it the financial formula?

Is it scalable?

What will it look like?

And how will it work?

My mom had a great business head on her shoulders.

And so did my dad who taught me about using a piece of pen and paper and putting down the numbers and understanding what profitability is. He used to say to me, "If you can't run those numbers on a piece of scratch paper and truly know your numbers quickly and sharply, you have no business running a business".

Here's the bottom line.

Take a moment and think about the leaders you admire. Who are they; what impact and traits they have that you want to take on and incorporate in your leadership? How are you going to do that?
