Who or what are you afraid of?

Who or what are you afraid of?

Nobody arrives in this world being afraid of expressing oneself, we grow up and along the way we go through different life experiences which lead us slowly but surely to become who we are, well in fact not who we are but how we act...

As a kid I use to hear, "please be quiet, adults are speaking", I still hear that sometimes ... I would then go back to my world where every single kid had the right to express himself and even more, in front of adults who had a serious need to listen and learn from their speeches!

Years later I studied acting, studies which just confirmed my inner feeling, how important, how essential it is to express yourself & moreover to communicate efficiently not only in your business but also in your day to day life. How crucial it is to be able to use the right word when expressing how you feel about something or someone!

Most people fear judgment and when you think about it that specific fear can lead you straight to disaster when comes the time of your presentation! Believing deeply in what you are sharing with others is in my opinion one of the keys to counter that fear. You'll always meet people who will follow your ideas, your beliefs and others who will not.  If people feel your determination, your faith, your inner peace when addressing your message, you'll have reached most of your audience!

As a kid we were afraid of not being as good as others, of not looking as good as others, we were afraid of being different! Most probably because the society we live in tends to mould individuals. Nevertheless, today in order to captivate an audience we need to make THE difference, one advice BE YOURSELF, no need to work hard on being different, we are all unique individuals!

I invite you to consider what it means to be yourself, and to think about the things you do in your life that don't agree with that and the ones that do...

"The opposite of courage in our society is not cowardice…it is conformity.”
~ Rollo May, Man’s Search for Himself.
