Why Perplexity won the AI election battle

Why Perplexity won the AI election battle

So apparently there was an election this week. Anyone know who won?

This was the first AI-boom presidential election, and according to senior tech reporter Tegan Jones , the week’s big winner was Perplexity , which reaped the benefits of its focus on sourcing and “real-time” info to come out on top for Election Day facts.

As Americans – and the world – began to absorb, celebrate, and mourn the reality of a second Trump presidency, they turned to Perplexity’s well-designed, well-sourced and frequently updated AI-powered election hub, which earned the attention and trust of users.

Tegan found that Elon Musk’s misinformation-spreading Grok was the election’s biggest AI loser, with Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and OpenAI taking a cautious approach, opting out of real-time election updates.

What role might AI play in Australia’s 2025 federal election?

Check out Tegan’s must-read analysis to find out.

Hope you get some time away from the MAGAlomonia this weekend.
