📚 #WisdomWednesdays 11: Simplified Wisdom from My Bookshelf 📚
(Book cover credits Amazon and/or Goodreads)
Welcome back to our weekly rendezvous with the written word. Let’s dive into the insights and adventures from this week’s literary companions.
I’m giving my insights and takeaways.
✅ I Recently Savoured
A guide to establishing healthy boundaries for lasting personal tranquillity.
The profound ancient wisdom of Taoism offers guidance for peace and simplicity.
A new theory of intelligence that will transform our understanding of the brain.
800+ pages of Dragons! Enough said. I'm reading book 2 of the saga before book 1 as I have book 2 in print, and this is not something I’d read as an eBook.
🔄 Cherished Revisits
This week's reading was all new, which reminds me I ought to revisit some books … I wonder which one?
📖 I’m STILL Between the Covers
I’m making slow progress on some books, but I am making progress and slowly savouring them.
Unravelling the art of impactful teaching.
The relentless pursuit of self-improvement.
Unveiling the unwritten lessons of the engineering world.
Navigating the complexities of modern parenting with innovative strategies for raising well-rounded children.

Aligning every action with our deepest values.
I have to say this is one book I’m beginning to labour over
I’m re-engaging with the ‘revised’ edition to explore the depths of dialogue.
What’s taking me so long? The OCD in me is attempting to identify all the revisions 🤡
🌱 Freshly Planted, eager to read
Serial killer vs troubled detective. Explores the darkness in human psychology and what drives someone to kill.
Practical habits drawn from Japanese tradition. I know of some like ikigai, kaizen, and wabi-sabi, but not all of them, so I’m looking forward to this.
Applying behavioural science for more productive and enjoyable daily experiences.
A re-read (last read in 2014). The psychology behind successful transformations. How to make lasting changes in organisations and personal life.

Progress update: 52/52
🤔 Try This:
Reflect on your week. Identify a recurring situation where you feel overextended or uncomfortable. Write down one boundary you could set that might alleviate that stress.
Choose one task or activity and approach it with a focus on simplicity and ease, reflecting on the Taoist principle of 'effortless action' (Wu Wei).
Do a 'brain workout.' Engage in a new activity, like a puzzle or learning a few words in a new language, to stimulate neural plasticity.
If you're a fantasy fan, take a moment to envision your fantasy world or creature. If you're a writer or artist, sketch or jot down some ideas.
