World Kindness Day
Dear friends,
We all wish for kindness, but sometimes we are unable to be kind to others because we are not kind to ourselves. Have you ever noticed this? Through our experiences, we collect many heavy emotions – such as anger, frustration, doubt, or stress – that build up when we are not able to regulate them so well. They tend to build up in our system, and we are pulled further away from our natural self. We are then inclined to react more to others rather than being kind.
So to my heart, kindness for others begins with kindness to ourselves. How can we develop this inner kindness? Meditate. When we meditate on the heart, we cultivate a connection with our inner self. We sustain and strengthen the heart’s ability to feel love, empathy, compassion, and kindness. The more we meditate, the more we create a balanced state of inner kindness, and the easier it becomes to share that state of being with others.
How to meditate on the heart you might wonder? Try this simple exercise:
Sit comfortably in a place without any distractions and close your eyes.
Make a gentle suggestion that the light that is already present in your heart is attracting you from within.
Try to let go of any other distracting thoughts and let your attention rest on the light until you naturally come out of meditation.
Afterwards, take a pause and observe how you feel.
World Kindness Day is a time to nurture self-kindness, and to let it’s fragrance radiate to others in your life. Love and acceptance are simply the way to go.
With love and respect,
