World Quality Day - The Story of the Music
In a span of 8 years, I've been blessed to be part of this journey, that stemmed from a single vision, that had brought both heart-ache, heart-warming experiences. The messages of encouragement from the global community continue to drive me.
What if we could use music to unite people all around the world, to create interest in Quality, and bring in the millennials into the global community? Music that could be played during Quality related events, like conferences, award ceremonies, small group activities, group trainings, dinner events etc. & not just some generic pop music.
I looked through the past photos of Quality activities/events that I participated/led over the past 20 years, to draw inspiration from. If a song does not first speak deeply to you, it will not move others, and it will not have authenticity.
Thank you as I share with you the Quality inspired music, created with care & passion.
These are the songs from World Quality Day (2017 to 2024) todate. Have a listen!
World Quality Week - 11-15 November 2024
Theme: Quality - from compliance to performance
In our increasingly interconnected and rapidly changing world, managing dynamic risk landscapes and maintaining operational resilience is crucial for organisations to stay competitive. But, resilience alone is no longer sufficient. To remain relevant and to thrive, organisations must also innovate and adapt their business models, products, services with a quality culture leading the change.
Singaporean companies know that playing by the rules is more than just paperwork; Compliance isn’t just about checking boxes—it’s about setting the stage for operational excellence & global credibility.
By aligning with rigorous standards, Singapore’s businesses don’t just keep up; they step up, integrating compliance into every facet of their operations to sharpen efficiency, earn customer trust, & outmaneuver competitors. This commitment not only protects their reputation but also propels innovation & growth, making them nimble players in a fast-changing economic landscape.

Theme: Quality: realising your competitive potential
In today's complex and dynamic risk landscapes, maintaining a competitive advantage requires more than just operational resilience. Quality improvement principles and methods can help organisations quickly and effectively address inherent inefficiencies, allowing them to meet changing customer expectations faster, more economically, and sustainably than their competitors.

World Quality Week - 7 to 11 November 2022
Theme: Quality conscience: doing the right thing
Increasingly, organisations are expected to expand their scope of responsibility and to do the right thing, not only for the shareholder/taxpayer, customers and staff, but the environment and society at large. This demand for businesses to use conscience in their decision making at every level creates more difficult ethical dilemmas.
Quality management is not only about designing and improving the quality of product and service, but also about the methods organisations employ to deliver them to customers and stakeholders across their value stream. This year’s World Quality Week theme provides an opportunity to reflect on how corporate culture and conscience can help or hinder an organisation to make decisions and ‘do the right thing’ for all stakeholders.

World Quality Week - 8 to 12 November 2021
Theme: Sustainability: improving our products, people and planet
When we hear the word sustainability, we often think of the environment and things like renewable fuels, reducing carbon emissions, and protecting habitats. Or even we consider improving our products or services and planet sustainability. However, the principle of sustainability is equally relevant to the human experience. People sustainability aims to ensure not only that humans sustain life, but that they thrive and flourish through efficient use of their limited personal resources like time, energy, and attention.
World Quality Day - 12 November 2020
Theme : Creating customer value
Customer-focused organisations have a culture of creating value for their customers by innovating and improving products, services and processes. In a world of ever-increasing customer expectations, competition and technological change, businesses are striving to be seen as ‘partners’ in the eyes of their stakeholders.
This song, 'Create Customer Value' is specially written to commemorate this dedication.

Song: 'Certified Quality Auditor'
An ISO auditor's life is fulfilling, filled with challenges & new learnings. Working in the audit world can be an eye-opening experience, immersing in different cultures and nationalities.
When you work on an audit, it's like collecting the pieces of a puzzle🎉. Initially, it's difficult to see the complete picture, but with time, you will begin to collect more pieces of "evidence" and eventually be able to see the whole. 🎯
Being an auditor gives you exposure to a diverse range of industries and companies, meaning you’ll always be learning about new business trends and meeting with leaders in almost every industry – all while working in a collaborative team environment, developing your skills set. This song was written in celebrating your important role as an auditor.

Theme: Celebrating everyday leadership
This song, 'Every Quality Professional, A Leader' was released, together with 7 other songs in a 1st ever Quality inspired music album seen below.
There is this connection between leadership and quality, and why is it so important? Simply put, the quality professional, wherever he or she may be and at whatever level of management, must be a leader to be effective. The quality professional at work somewhere in the quality field is not an artist alone at the canvas. That professional is bringing insight, tools, principles, and personal example to someone—to some crew, team, or section; to a business unit; or to something even bigger, such as a larger organisation system.
This task is going to be bigger than the sole person, perhaps much bigger. It will involve other people, with all of their complexities, strengths, weaknesses, hopes, and fears. So whatever our quality professional is working on, it is going to take leadership to get the job done.

Song ' Quality My Mantra' - Dance edition. Yes, Quality Professionals are not boring people, and we can have fun during the celebrations too! Create a TIK-TOK Dance Challenge for your events!
Song 'Quality My Mantra - Extended Mix'
We expect everyone, especially employees to monitor product/service quality at each stage in our value chain — design, manufacturing, aftersales, and post-market surveillance. Through our “Quality Begins with Me” culture, we encourage employees to own this responsibility. Strive to prevent issues before they arise. Hold each other accountable and communicate proactively. This catchy song was written to emphasize on these humanistic characteristics.
Song: 'GAP' - Generate No Defects, Accept No Defects, Pass No Defects'
Are You Taking Pride In Your Work? ...
Delivering Quality products or services each and every time? Back in July17, there was much debate over a Singaporean celebrity Michelle Chong's social media comments, frustrated with people she had come across in the course of her work who just "don't care about what they do". Michelle expressed that Singapore has the potential to be a better place if people just made an effort to do a good job.
This inspired the lyrics to the song, "GAP - Generate No Defects, Accept No Defects, Pass No Defects". This was released with the sole purpose to create awareness of a simple Quality mantra, that one must do it RIGHT the 1st Time, Every time, regardless of role, industry, be it a salesperson in retail, or a supermarket cashier, or services in airport, production operator in manufacturing. The mindset & personal value must be there, to drive this desired behavior.
Song: 'LEARN UNLEARN RELEARN '- Global Edition
Alvin Toffler had the right advice when he stated, “The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn." Continuous learning, continuous experimentation, and continuous improvement are the hallmarks of great people and great companies.
This song was written to emphasize the need for lifelong learning.
- build adaptability as an evergreen skill
- put intentional learning into practice
- create a learning culture within your organization
- stay grounded when the only constant is change
Learning is one of life's greatest gifts.
Song: 'Lean Waste Buster'
I just love what a WasteBuster would do .. keep this great work coming as education is key to driving behaviour change on waste.
Song: 'Lean 8 Wastes'
