Running for a Cause: Supporting From The Heart Charity

Our Runners

Our dedicated team members, Chris Boden-Hook, Chris Espin, and Shaun Chadwick, are on a mission to run a combined 3,000 miles in 2024 to raise £3,000 for From The Heart Charity (FTHC). This incredible charity supports vulnerable children and young people in the Bassetlaw district.

They've already covered an impressive distance, but we still need your support to reach our fundraising target. Every donation makes a difference and helps us support those in need.

Please consider donating and sharing our cause with your network. Read the full post here.

Honouring Desmond Cutts: A Lasting Legacy

Desmond Cutts

Last year, we mourned the loss of our beloved Works Manager, Desmond Cutts. Des played a pivotal role in fabricating a headgear monument for Firbeck Colliery, now standing proudly in the Firbeck Colliery Memorial Gardens in Langold.

Memorial Plaque: "In Memory of Desmond Graham Cutts

31st May 1959 - 11th February 2023

Who helped with the creation and construction of this pit head, remembered with affection.”

Highlights:

  • Presentations by our apprentices, James and Harry, sharing their experiences.
  • Interactive "Wright Engineering Bolt" challenge to foster teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Positive feedback and increased interest in apprenticeships from students.
