Our Topic for today's discussion is HR Point-of-View in preparing a great CV that will help candidates get their dream job!!!

As HR, I scan a lot of CV documents of all the candidates and I observe they are not formatted in a right way. Many candidates forget to mention the essential information. So, today I would like to discuss and list out few important points that will help candidates prepare a perfect CV for their next job interview!

Your CV is your first impression! If you really want to have a better impression, make sure your CV is perfectly documented and well - detailed with relevant information about you so that it helps HR or any other reader to know about you!

This is for both Fresher and experienced candidates !

1.Small description about Career & Goal:

  • If you are a fresher candidate, then mention your goal and aspirations about your career.
  • If you are an experienced candidate, then mention your work experience and if you would like to see your career in that particular field, then mention it as well.
  • Make your description short & informative!

2. Introduction :

  • Make sure you mention your Full Name. Avoid writing short name.

(Example – Dhvani Nayankumar Gor - "Valid"

                    Dhvani Gor - "Invalid")

  • Permanent Address
  • Mobile Number
  • Email i'd
  • LinkedIn I'd (Mandatory)
  • Portfolio (Mandatory)

3. Education detail:

  • Percentage - SSC, HSC, Bachelor's, Diploma, Masters, College Name, University Name
  • Mention your education qualifications in detail!

4.Certificate Course Detail:

  • If you have done any online or offline certificate course, then mention details about it.
  • Course name, Institution name, Website Name (if it's online)
  • Time Duration

5. Achievements:

  • If you have participated and won any events during your schooling or college then mention details about it.
  • Include details such as:

-Event name

-Your rank in event

6. Skills & Hobby:

  • Mention your technical and soft skills.
  • Write about your hobbies like what do you enjoy doing in your free time(Sports, Reading, Writing, etc.)

7. Professional Experience:

  • Mention the company name where you worked previously & Present
  • Include details such as:

-What was your job position in that company?

-How much time (months/years) did you work there?

8.. Extra-curricular activities detail :

  • Write about the seminar that you attended.
  • If you have participated in placement, then mention about that.
  • If you have done internship, then mention about that as well (Project name, time)

9. Personal Details:

  • Parents Name
  • Known Languages
  • DOB
  • Marital status 

10. Reference:

Reference is the important part of CV.

  • If you are a fresher candidate, then mention details about your college professor (Name, Email ID, Phone number, College name)
  • If you are an experienced candidate, then mention details about your previous company's senior or HR (Name, Email ID, Phone Number, Job position of mentioned person)

11. Declaration :
