You Deserve To Be Expensive

You Deserve To Be Expensive

It’s getting tough out there. Your clients are asking you to discount your prices. There’s a price war going on in every industry. You’re unsure what your day rate should be. Sound familiar? If so, you’re like many other business owners who are considering dropping their prices, often out of desperation.

But here’s the thing:

Desperation does not attract the clients you want to be working with. And in fact, I believe now is the perfect time to discuss why doubling your prices can be a game-changer for your business.

So, if you've ever wondered about the right pricing strategy or felt undervalued for your work, I shared strategies for doubling your prices on a recent podcast episode. Here's some of what I chatted about.

Conviction and Confidence

Between the tax man, cost of living and unsteady markets, I can absolutely understand the desperation that’s driving many business owners to question their own pricing. And many more are receiving price objections from clients, too. However, rather than caving in to fear or unfair demands, I believe

we need to build a stronger sense of confidence about who we are and the value of our offering.

Handling Price Objections

When faced with price objections from clients, it's crucial to recognise that it's rarely about the money itself.

Clients often object because they don't fully understand the value you bring and how you can help them.

In these situations, take the time to understand their problem and clearly articulate how your services can solve it. On the other hand, if budget is a genuine concern, don't lower your prices or add extra value. Instead, have an open conversation to understand their needs and find a way to provide a solution within their budget.

Embracing Your Worth

Perhaps the most important takeaway from this episode is the need to value your worth and align your pricing with your expertise and positioning. Many of us hesitate to raise our rates, fearing that clients won't pay more. However, I want to challenge that belief.

With the right positioning and confidence in your own value, you'll attract clients who recognise and appreciate your worth. It's time to actively increase your prices and see the positive impact it has on your revenue and profit.

Think about this: if you had to double your income in the next 90 days, would you be able to do it? What would you do to make it happen? While there are many valuable tasks that could help boost revenue, I personally know a much easier way - and that’s doubling your rates!

Remember, you’ve got nothing to lose or prove, and absolutely everything to gain.

So set that new price, stand firm in knowing your worth and you’ll be on your way to seeing that precious increase in profit!
