When an unpleasant memory triggers an uncomfortable reaction, we can pause and consciously remove ourselves from the familiar field of response. We can look at the memory from a distance and calmly let it go as if it doesn’t belong to us. As we break the chain of connection, the memory loses its ability to produce a reaction in our bodies or in our minds. We learn to remain calm, centered and balanced because our memories require our emotional energy to fuel their presence in our lives. Turn off the reaction and, without a fuel source, the memory fades until it loses its traction within the domain of your mental and emotional framework. By relaxing your body, especially in critical areas where old stresses have been retained, you invite the subconscious to release memories of any events that no longer serve your health or wellbeing. Release the weight of the past and create the space in your life for a fresher, brighter future.
