Takeaways from female founders raising investment event

As we have spent this year fundraising for Valerie, it was inspiring to be surrounded by female founders and investors at an event hosted by Female Founders Raise. 

My top takeaways from the investors plus what we have been focusing on for you to learn from:

• Demonstrate traction as early as possible - we launched as soon as we could, customer feedback and sales were our #1 priority. The plan was a consumer trial first but we ended up launching, this allowed us to establish market fit and feedback to help fast-track investment
• Focus on the founder's relationship to the problem you are solving - both Olly and my experience with perimenopause has been integral to communicating our mission to investors
• Focus on purpose when pitching - we demonstrate clearly the gap in the market and the size of the prize, make this about an investor opportunity and not just you
• Relationships are key, angels will buy into you and want to support your journey - our relationships from our careers have been hugely impactful when raising, whether direct relationships, recommendations or from new people seeing our content
• Network and hustle - don't take no for an answer, keep getting back up when you get knocked down or ghosted.
