Last week I was ill.

I had some sort of flu or something, I was in bed for about 2 days.

I even had a fever!

Obviously my wife said I had man flu and made fun of me, but it was pretty serious:

My business was fine, but my family was a complete shamble.

I have to be honest here, I think my family suffers from "Founder Bottleneck".

And this is why I thought about writing today's newsletter on this topic.

Founder Bottleneck

Founder bottleneck is a situation where you, as the Founder of your business, are basically constantly putting out fires:

• chasing deadlines,
• handling unhappy clients,
• or fixing mistakes that never should’ve happened in the first place.

Everything depends on you:

• When a big client deal is on the line, they call you.
• When there’s a problem with delivery, your team looks to you.
• When it’s time to make key decisions... you’re the bottleneck.

It’s exhausting.

And very inefficient:

• The deadlines keep slipping.
• Growth stalls because you’re too busy with low-value tasks.
• Your best employees get fed up and leave.

And the burden falls back on you.

You find yourself working nights, weekends, and holidays just to keep things afloat, sacrificing your health, your relationships, and your peace of mind.
