Your Diet Must Be for Life
Going on a diet that's not a way of eating you can adhere to for life is a big mistake.
Every time you go on another diet, you establish yet another short-term, formulaic eating pattern, and then you return to the only other pattern you know: the eating habits that made you overweight!
For many, placing blame on a diet is much easier than taking responsibility for making the hard choices of sustainable lifestyle changes.
Taking off excess fat is more work than putting it on. However, even when the going gets tough, it’s better than eating nothing but cabbage soup, avoiding the bread aisle, popping pills, or choking down food you hate. You don't have to make yourself miserable to lose weight.
You do have to:
✔️ Feed your body real food.
✔️ Respect your body and give it what it needs to work efficiently.
✔️ Shift your focus from the 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘦𝘥 of weight loss to the 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 of weight loss. The less you focus on numbers and deadlines, the more you can focus on making long-term changes.
When you repeatedly try to lose weight in any manner other than the way you can eat for the rest of your life — and other than a manner that sets good eating habits for your children — the only thing you lose is time and a whole lot of money.
