Is Your Job Search Strategy A Rocket Or An Anchor?

Is Your Job Search Strategy A Rocket Or An Anchor?

We've all had friends who share how easy and fast it was for them to find their next job. It seemed like they sent a couple resumes and BAM, got a great offer (or multiple offers to choose between). Their job search was a rocket.

But it's not what you're experiencing. You're sending a lot of resumes, but not getting great results. Not many interviews, and the interviews you're getting are either poor quality or you don't advance. Your job search is an anchor - a heavy boat anchor.

So what did your friend do that you're not doing?

They could have gotten lucky, but this happens more often in strong job markets and rarely during job market recessions or when hiring slows. It's easier to be a rocket when there are many jobs and few candidates, but today's job market is the opposite. It's likely your strategy is an anchor when many candidates compete for few jobs.

Most job seekers do what everyone else does, and that makes matters worse. Most apply to jobs online, send more resumes to increase the volume, and hope they'll get lucky. This strategy is the recipe of an anchor, but it's what everybody uses (it's the strategy Outplacement and most career coaches/authors teach). Using this type of boat anchor strategy is what burns through savings, wrecks finances, and loses homes.

It's because few job seekers will change their search strategy to adapt to a more difficult environment. Instead, they'll send more resumes, investing even more time in doing the same things that aren't working while hoping for different results. It's what some have called "The definition of insanity".

Those who do try to change rarely do enough. They'll make small changes, but see little difference.

If you want to change your job search into a rocket, you need to change what you're doing. Big changes in results require big changes in your resume/job search strategy.

You'd have already made these big changes if you knew the right changes that would turn your job search into a rocket.

Why not let me show you the big changes to your resume/job search strategy that can turn your job search into a rocket. so you can find your next job by Q1 2021? While we're at it, I'll teach you ways to accelerate your job search, so you stop trying to land a job just by applying to more jobs and hoping to get lucky.

This is the 3rd recession I've recruited/coached through, so I've seen first hand what resume and job search strategies succeed during recessions. I've also seen mistakes candidates make, causing their recession job searches to fail. I've been through this before and know what works and what doesn't.

That's why numerous job seekers who work with me have already gotten job offers this March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December, January and February - every week since mid-March.

As a top national recruiter who reads hundreds of resumes per day, who has helped hundreds of thousands of candidates in their job search, and seen thousands of employers' job search processes from the inside, I've got a different perspective than most career coaches.

I see that most job seekers do essentially the same things, even when they think they are job searching differently. I see the mistakes that almost every age 40+ job seeker makes that make them lose great opportunities. I also see most job seekers were taught search methods that eliminate them from consideration, because they conflict with the employer's hiring process.

But I've been teaching job seekers to overcome ageism for 13+ years by using non-traditional resume/job search strategies that demonstrate impact rather than just being average. I'll show you how to beat ageism and find a great job during the recession by understanding employers' point of view and hiring processes ... and using this understanding to beat your competition.

(I'm not just a career coach. I've also been a top national recruiter for the last 16+ years ... so you'll get advice from a different perspective - an insider's point of view.)

Let me show you what you can do now to change your job search and resume so you can beat ageism during the recession, even if you're also between jobs, trying to change careers, industry or location, if your industry is in decline/consolidation, trying to overcome long term career gaps, family leave, find a remote job, turnaround your job search or other tough to solve job search problems.
