Your Posture Can Put You in Position
Last Sunday, I asked my Sunday school class an important question: "Are you in the right position to be used by God?" The responses were surprising. Many students felt they weren't in any position to be used by God. This made me realize there was a sense of unworthiness in the room.
I also thought about my work as a schoolteacher. I often remind my students about their posture. "Sit up straight, feet on the ground," I tell them. Sometimes, I ask them to stand up and move around to shake off sluggishness and get their blood flowing.
In preschool and elementary school, words and concepts are hung high on walls to speak to our subconscious. Think back to your early classrooms. Do you remember the ABC print and cursive signs? What else was hanging from the ceiling?
Did you know that moving from sitting to standing to receive or recite information activates your subconscious? This is why we stand for pledges or prayers—to stand at attention.
Some days, we might not feel like we're in the right position to be heard, understood, to receive, or to give. But we must remember that we are always worthy because we exist. If you feel out of position, change your posture. Understand that your posture can affect your position.
