ICYMI: California to Ban Leaded Avgas in 2031
The state of California is set to ban leaded aviation gasoline by the year 2031, making it the first U.S. state to pass such legislation. The Eliminate Aviation Gasoline Lead Emissions (EAGLE) initiative has until 2030 to come up with a drop-in replacement fuel for piston aircraft. Read more from AVweb.

IBAC, CTX Unveil New Biz Av Carbon Credit Program
The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) has partnered with Carbon Trade eXchange to offer a voluntary program that will help business aviation operators offset their CO2 emissions through the purchase of carbon credits. Read more.
Government Support Needed to Build Pilot Pipeline
A recent article in Wings Magazine looks at the challenges Canadian flight training units are facing, particularly with recent reductions to the number of student visas for 2024. Many pilot training programs depend on revenue from foreign students, several of whom go on to work as flight instructors at Canadian schools. GAMA Releases 2nd Quarter Activity Report
The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has released its Q2 2024 Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report. Robust demand for new aircraft continues to drive the industry, said GAMA. In fact, 322 business jets were delivered in the first six months of this year, representing an 8.8 per cent increase over 2023. Get the report here.
EBAA, GAMA Publish European Biz Av Manifesto
The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) have published their manifesto for the 2024-2029 European legislative term. It calls on policymakers to support business aviation by advancing three main pillars: enabling biz av to reach net-zero by 2050; safeguarding a competitive and fair market; and investing in Europe for a cleaner, greener future.
