Aerometrex’s 3D modeling solution has become a part of the tech powering NBC News Election Coverage. Our 3D model of Rockefeller Plaza in the US has become the iconic backdrop for election day news on NBC. The size, scale and fidelity of the 3D dataset are breathtaking when seen on the big screens and provide an extremely immersive virtual environment for the studio. Recent advancements in AR/VR technology and Game Engines such as Unreal Engine when combined with high-quality 3D data, can provide flexibility that can’t always be achieved with a physical environment. The data, technology and creativity behind it make storytelling far more immersive and engaging. NBC has been planning this event’s broadcast for a very long time, and we’re glad we had a chance to be a part of supporting their virtual environment.
