ARU Writtle's new BSc (Hons) Health, Wellbeing and Community degree, launching in September 2025, explores this question in depth. Designed with key partners like the NHS, this course focuses on prevention and person-centred care. You all heard the news that last week we welcomed a brand-new breed of sheep to Sturgeons Farm. The Kerry Hill is a breed of domestic sheep originating in the county of Powys in Wales. They have a distinctive and unique coloration, with a white face bearing black markings around the mouth, ears, and eyes. Joe Thompson, FE Lecturer in Wildlife and Conservation tells us why we're so excited to have these new additions and what opportunities they will bring for our students. 🐑🚜 #ARUWrittle #Agriculture #WrittleCollege

Next up we're shining a light on another Spotlight Award winner, this time for a team award.🎓🎉 Emily Alexander, along with Summa Ginger, Holly Wareham, Abigail Heard, Victoria Head, Maisy Payne, Jody Munden and Holly Thompson were awarded a team award for Community Excellence in the BUCS Netball 1st team. The team achieved an extraordinary record by remaining undefeated for two consecutive years, earning promotions each year! Competing against other universities in the BUCS league, they won their league twice without losing a single game. This remarkable team, our most successful sports squad at ARU Writtle, has seen many members graduate, but their legacy of excellence will continue to inspire us. This weekend the farm at ARU Writtle participated in the annual Christmas Tractor Run at Crawfords, where two of our tractors joined a convoy of 112 tractors. 🚜🎄 The event raised funds for the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. #ARUWrittle #Writtle
