Funded by the federal Energy Transition Fund, BE-HyFE unites all Belgian knowledge institutes for fundamental hydrogen research. 🤝 This visit was a fantastic opportunity for both Bekaert and the academic community to exchange knowledge on hydrogen technology. 🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 Bekaert has been awarded up to €23.6 million from the EU Innovation Fund 2023 for our project “GRAND PIANO”. This funding will enhance our green hydrogen value chain and secure clean tech manufacturing in Europe. Key highlights of GRAND PIANO: - Automated GW-scale production for PEM and AEM Porous Transport Layers (PTL) - First commercial production of AEM PTL. - Breakthrough MEA technology reducing iridium usage by 90%. This project aims to deploy up to 39 GW for PEM and AEM technologies in ten years, avoiding 11.7 million tons of GHG emissions.
