Eric Gaynor, CPA and Matthew Reidy from Public Consulting Group discussed Medicaid's impact on healthcare spending in the U.S. during Prof. Rob DeLeo of Global Studies, "The Business of Health" course. Medicaid accounts for $1 of every $5 spent in healthcare and is approaching $1 trillion in expenditures per year. The discussion focused on the significant revenue source Medicaid is for all kinds of businesses from non-profit to private equity. Additionally, the program accounts for approximately 25-30% of a state’s budget, creating substantial financial pressures. #bentleyu #accounting
