✨NEW✨ Heirs' Property state factsheets added for MA, NY, WV! Heirs’ property is property transferred to multiple family members through inheritance, usually without a will or estate plan. When land is owned together by multiple family members without clear title (the ancestor's name is still on the deed), it leads to multiple challenges. Heirs’ property has been a significant driving force of land loss for African American, Appalachian, Latinx, and Indigenous communities. The Farmland Access Legal Toolkit provides resources and information on heirs’ property to help prevent land loss and support family farmers and those who provide support to them. Learn more about state laws relevant to heirs' property owners with our state fact sheets! (More states coming soon.) Click here to look for your state: https://lnkd.in/eWZSQRc4
