In key regions globally, hydrate blockages have been experienced in gas wells.   For high-pressure, deep-water gas projects exceeding 20,000 psi (1379 bar), standard water based hydraulic fluids do not always have sufficient performance to prevent hydrate formation.   The impact is major.
