Last month, the DEF NYC Founders Forum gathered to provide feedback for the Senate Small Business Committee as they prepare the 2025 SBIR/STTR Reauthorization Act. Just last week, Eric Kanagy personally met with SBC staffers to share and discuss the group’s findings. The SBC has already heard from lobbyists and think tanks, but what they need most is direct input from those of us who have been through the SBIR/STTR process. If this is you and you’d like to provide feedback on what works well, what doesn’t work well, or any other changes to propose, submit your feedback via the link below! If you participated in the in-person session and had more thoughts after you left, you’re welcome to submit additional comments. Deadline to submit is December 12th! Thank you for your continued support! https://lnkd.in/eNjv-YYM

Hot off the press from Defense Innovation Unit (DIU)! Plenty of #NYC companies can knock this out of the park.
Enterprise Workflow and Reporting Platform solicitation posted! Many government and private organizations struggle with budget planning efforts, namely timely and accurate reporting of program and financial management data. Tracking workflow metrics like incoming funding, contract modifications and real-time status updates allows organizations to better understand their technology adoption status and identify challenges in product scaling. The Department of Defense (DoD) seeks a solution that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to coordinate budget planning efforts; map incoming funding, contract modifications and real-time execution status updates; and provide a faster and more intelligent way of program management and leadership visibility. The use of LLMs such as retrieval augmented generation (RAG) may also allow for summarization of the overall investments and dashboards that incorporate various system data feeds for full project tracking. Solutions requested by 11/08/2024. Details here: https://lnkd.in/eUpkJFH #AI #ML #LLMs

Congrats to #NYC based Distributed Spectrum on winning this important Prize Challenge! Great technology to share with our valued allies. #defenseinnovation #AUKUS #madeinNY
At yesterday's Defense Ministers Meeting, companies from the U.S., Australia and the UK announced the finalists and the overall winner of the trilateral AUKUS Electronic Warfare (EW) Prize Challenge. The winner of the U.S.’s DIU-run challenge was Distributed Spectrum. The finalists each presented technologies that will help AUKUS nations leverage the electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) to identify targets and track their location and movements, select and apply appropriate EMS assets and/or EMS enabled weapon systems, and assess the effects of an attack using the EMS. Read more about the winners, including those from Australia’s Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA)-run challenge and the (to be announced soon) U.K.’s Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA)-run challenge here: https://lnkd.in/echJtAgk #DefenseInnovation #AUKUS #Security
