Introducing our keynote speakers: Prof. Guro Andersen, MD, PhD. Guro L. Andersen is a Pediatrician, currently serving as a Senior Consultant at the Habilitation Center at Vestfold Hospital, Tønsberg Norway and as an Associate Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). She is the leader of the Norwegian Quality and Surveillance Registry for Cerebral Palsy (NorCP), a pivotal initiative aimed at improving the lives of individuals with cerebral palsy in Norway. Under her guidance, the NorCP has become a comprehensive national registry that not only tracks the prevalence and causes of cerebral palsy but also monitors the health, function, and quality of life of those affected. The registry integrates medical data and motor function assessments, providing a robust framework for early intervention and continuous care. Guro has previously been Deputy Chair of the Surveillance of Cerebral palsy of Europe, and NorCP is a significant member of the SCPE. Guro’s work with the NorCP emphasizes the importance of systematic follow-up and data analysis to enhance treatment protocols and health services. Guro has also led the work and been the editor of an evidence-based guideline on diagnosing and follow-up of individuals with CP to help prioritization of health services for individuals with cerebral palsy, ensuring better and more equal care. Her dedication to research and clinical experience has made impact on the field, fostering a collaborative environment for healthcare professionals and improving outcomes for patients and their families across Norway.
