Repowering extends the life of existing wind turbines and technical upgrades improve energy production from existing wind farms. Today, GE Vernova announced that we received orders in 2024 to repower over 1 gigawatt of #WindTurbines in the U.S.. The projects will use nacelles and drive trains manufactured in the U.S. at GE Vernova’s Pensacola, #Florida facility, where approximately 20% of the workforce are #veterans. In the wake of a doubling of #EnergyDemand, repowering will help meet the increasing needs in the U.S. and support abundant, affordable U.S. energy. 📢 Read the announcement here: https://vernova.is/4gUaLPC #GEVernova #EnergyTransition #Decarbonization #Wind #WindPower #Repower

We thank Stephen Swift for his continued leadership as Wind Projects Leader, leveraging his expertise to drive innovation and optimize operations. We welcome David Hardy as Wind Chief Commercial Officer, bringing extensive experience to drive our commercial strategies forward!
After 40 years in the industry, its time to start what will be a fairly structured transition to the next challenge. After leading the Commercial Efforts of GE Vernova's Wind business for the last few decades I will be passing the reigns to a seasoned industry leader, David Hardy. David will join GE Vernova in January, bringing a customer-centric mindset that will be invaluable as we continue to prioritize customer needs and drive the energy transition. He comes with a background from both a wind OEM and a customer, bringing a significant depth of knowledge and industry insight. David and I will continue partnering closely in the new year to ensure a smooth transition for our customers and our teams. I wish David the best of luck and know he and the team will continue to be successful. Instead of going directly into retirement, I will extend my time and step into lead our Wind Global Projects Organization. I will break out the work boots from early in my career to help both our Onshore and Offshore Teams deliver projects that exceed expectations. I will lean on the hard-working team that is here today and draw on years of energy experience—from Field Engineering, to leading regions and partnering with our customers—to continue delivering great outcomes with Safety and Quality at the center. As I transition out of the Commercial responsibilities, I am proud of the collective work our customers and the GE Vernova teams have accomplished together. There’s work to do and I look forward to keeping my sleeves rolled up and moving this industry forward.

To meet global decarbonization goals, the world needs more wind. It will take industry leaders working together as One Team to make that happen. That’s why I am so pleased to have spent 2-days last week in Pensacola, Florida, with more than 350 representatives from our supplier network discussing how our collaboration will help usher in a new era of energy for the world and future generations to come. We discussed how, together, we can lead growth in the wind industry by securing safety and transforming quality. Our suppliers also had the opportunity to tour our state-of-the-art wind manufacturing facility near-by to see how we apply Lean to deliver More Wind every day. We closed our supplier conference with our 2024 GE Vernova Wind Supplier Excellence Awards. Congratulations to the 2024 award winners selected by our 6 commodity teams: Electrical – JST Power Equipment Machine Head - Flender Gmbh Blades – Newtech Group Co., Ltd. Mechanical – CS BEARING CO., LTD. Installation and Indirect – ENDIPREV SA Logistics – Jordan Carriers Congratulations also to our 2024 Sustainability Breakthrough award winner SSAB Americas. In 2024, GE Vernova became the first wind turbine OEM globally to build towers with SSAB ZeroTM plate steel. Year to date we have built up to 500 towers with this world first material, which emits over 90% less CO2 in production than equivalent steel plate used across the industry today. Stay tuned for more announcements on the positive impact of this partnership. Lastly, my team wrapped up the week with a beach clean-up. A small, literal, team contribution to sustainability and waste elimination in support of our community. Thank you to all who took part in this energizing event. #GEVernova #FutureofEnergy #EnergyTransition #MoreWind

In a conversation with Ian Griggs and Windpower Monthly at #WindEnergyHamburg, GE Vernova’s Gilan Sabatier talked about our agility when it comes to serving our customers: “Once we determine where our customers would like us to be, we put that together with where we believe we can provide value – a compelling product offering, an execution track record, a service franchise, grid connection. The industry is extremely dynamic.” But Gilan said that agility doesn’t mean we are changing our strategy every day. Our #workhorse products paired with a strong industrial footprint in Europe means we have a foundation in place and we can then direct our efforts accordingly to help our customers in their efforts to electrify and decarbonize the world.
