Training and Empowering the Next Generation of Female Leaders: Since 2011, the HERlead Fellowship has trained, mentored and inspired over 340 high school girls from across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico to become the next generation of female leaders. Through the training and mentoring received in the HERlead Fellowship, young women are empowered and equipped with the leadership skills they need to effect global progress, invest in their communities and begin their individual leadership journeys. HERlead has also provided grant funding for more than 284 social impact projects to date. This groundbreaking initiative is a collaboration between Vital Voices Global Partnership and ascena retail group inc., including its Ann Taylor and LOFT brands. Vital Voices is the preeminent non-governmental organization whose mission is to invest in women leaders who improve the world. ascena retail group inc. —and its Ann Taylor and LOFT brands — inspires and connects with women to put their best selves forward every day. Together, these organizations provide HERlead Fellows with mentorship, grants and other resources so they can learn through action and each realize their distinct visions for making a positive difference in the world. What the Fellowship is all about: Training forums, grant access and relationship-building opportunities with both peers and influential leaders from across industries and around the world are all part of the HERlead Fellowship experience. HERlead provides intimate mentorship moments, customized leadership training and invaluable skills in order to inspire young women to achieve their leadership potential and change the world.
