The Insights Association’s IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access) Council works to make advancements related to inclusion, diversity, equity, access and belonging within the insights profession, to recommend truly representative research practices and to mitigate bias within insights and analytics work. OUR VISION To be the originators and accelerators of a new era where inclusive insights is the norm; where all are included, all voices are heard and all help to shape the future of our industry. OUR MISSION Address the lack of representation in the insights profession and the populations it researches by delivering measurement, education, and standards of excellence. *SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT* We're happy to announce that Vincent Singer from IQS Research will be leading a session at the 2024 virtual #IDEAForum titled "Mindful Touchpoints: Equity, Empathy, & Trauma-Informed Care in the Suicide Loss Community." Learn how he and IQS Research saw an opportunity for people to share one of the most difficult experiences of their lives, which demanded their consent and a mindful approach in multiple stages to achieve it. They strove to ensure the study's intention to conduct sound research did not take precedence over the potential for harmful impacts on the participants. They knew Equity, Empathy, and Trauma-Informed Care were necessary for harm reduction. As researchers, we have the responsibility to create safe physical and mental spaces to foster powerful insight. Tune in for their unexpected learning by taking this people-first approach. *SESSION SPOTLIGHT* We are pleased to welcome Hannah Kaplan, MPH and Feyla McNamara as session hosts at the 2024 virtual #IDEAForum happening on December 4th. This duo will explores the collaboration between Tides for Reproductive Freedom, a BIPOC-led nonprofit abortion fund, and Southpaw Insights, a primary research company, as they conducted a first-of-its-kind statewide survey with birthing people ages 16+ in Massachusetts about the perceptions of and experiences accessing and considering abortion. Their session is titled "Research Firm Meets Grassroots Organization: Learnings from the Community Access Scan" Together they have been working on this year-long project that embedded equity into the entire research life cycle and centered the voices of communities most affected.
