Tom Reinert, a dedicated marathon runner from Mertztown, didn’t let knee pain stop him. After Wayne Luchetti, MD, Associate Chief of the Division of Orthopedic Surgery, performed a partial knee replacement, Tom regained his strength. In fact, in his first marathon after the surgery Tom finished first in his age group in the Atlantic City Marathon. He’s now running up to 60 miles a week and has big plans for future marathons, including the Boston Marathon in April 2025. Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute welcomes Dr. Leighann Krasney to Monroe County and Lehigh Valley Hospital–Pocono. Dr. Krasney completed fellowship training in the shoulder and elbow and is now bringing this specialized care to residents of the Pocono Mountains. When asked why she entered medicine, Dr. Krasney shared: “I became an orthopedic surgeon to greatly improve each patient's quality of life. I pursued advanced training in shoulder and elbow surgery because the complexity of those joints interests me.” We welcome Dr. Krasney to Monroe County and look forward to continued collaboration to advance the orthopedic care available throughout our region.
