Yesterday, we had the privilege of coming together at Northeastern University in Toronto to celebrate Black History Month with an inspiring event hosted by our Black Students’ Association. We are deeply grateful to our community partner, BlackNorth Initiative, for their unwavering commitment to removing systemic barriers that impact Black Canadians. Their dedication to fostering equity and opportunity continues to make a lasting impact. A special thank you to our guest speakers: 🔹 Melisa Ellis, founder of Nobellum, who shared her journey as an entrepreneur and provided a roadmap to help students break into entrepreneurship. Her mission to launch 100 Black-owned STEM businesses by 2025 is truly inspiring. 🔹 Mthabisi Mhlanga, CPA, Senior Product Manager at ServiceTitan and founder of Speak Up Consulting, who led an engaging session on confidence-building and public speaking. His insights empowered students to communicate effectively and present their ideas with confidence. This event was a testament to the power of community, collaboration, and the ongoing work needed to create meaningful change.
