🔔 Reagens Deutschland achieves a new milestone! In November 2024, we successfully obtained #ISO50001 certification, a significant step in our commitment to making sustainability and energy efficiency a tangible reality. 👉 What is ISO 50001, and why does it matter to you? This international standard is more than just a technical certification: it serves as a practical guide for companies like ours to continuously improve energy management by setting clear and achievable goals. For you, it means partnering with a company that not only delivers solutions but actively works to reduce its environmental footprint and support a cleaner future. 👉 What does it mean in practice? ISO 50001 allows us to integrate our energy management efforts more effectively with our existing quality management system (ISO 9001) and environmental management system (ISO 14001). This translates into reduced energy consumption in our daily operations, lower CO2 emissions that contribute to a positive climate impact, and responsible resource management while collaborating with stakeholders and local communities for shared sustainable progress. For us, every achievement is a starting point to do more and do better, always by your side. If you’d like to learn more about this certification and our sustainability objectives, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. 🔍 A complex issue, a clear solution. DOTE (DiOctyltinbis (2-Ethylhexyl Thioglycolate), CAS 15571-58-1) has been included in the REACH Authorization List with a sunset date set for May 1, 2025. This means that, after this date, the use of products containing DOTE will only be allowed if the supplier has submitted an Authorization Application. 🧪 Reagens has already acted for you!🧪 We have proactively submitted our Authorization Application, ensuring that our clients can continue using our REA TIN OR 800 series stabilizers without any disruption. Important updates from ECHA. The authorization is expected to last until October 2027, as communicated during the November 2024 plenary meeting of the Risk Assessment Committee (RAC) and the Socio-Economic Analysis Committee (SEAC). An official decision is anticipated by the end of January 2025. Regardless of the outcome, Reagens guarantees uninterrupted continuity for all our clients. We already have alternative solutions available for those looking to adapt ahead of schedule. At Reagens, you’ll find a wide range of innovative options to ensure maximum continuity and compliance with regulations, including DOTE-free tin stabilizers and REACH-compliant COS-based solutions, all designed to meet market demands safely and sustainably. A shared commitment to the future of #PVC On November 5th and 6th, 2024, the PVC industry gathered at SKZ in Würzburg to discuss key topics such as sustainability, new plasticizers, recycling, and carbon neutrality. We are proud to have brought the voice of Reagens Deutschland to this significant event, thanks to the contribution of our R&D colleague, Ralf Picard. With his expertise, he shared innovative solutions and actively engaged in discussions about the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of the industry. Why does attending these events matter to Reagens? Because for us, it’s not just about innovating—it’s about collaborating with experts from around the world to build a future where PVC plays a leading role in a more sustainable and responsible industry. 👉 Learn more about the event here: https://lnkd.in/eXWbrySU

📍 Reagens at the Key PVC Conferences of 2024 This year’s conferences, such as PVC 2024 in Edinburgh, #PVCFormulationEurope2024 in Düsseldorf, and the 4th PVC4Cables Conference in Prague, provided the perfect platform to showcase the results of a fundamental research of our value chain on fire risk of PVC cables. During these events, we not only shared crucial data on PVC fire safety but also initiated a dialogue with companies and associations across the value chain. This journey reinforces our belief: innovation means collaboration, listening, and building the future of PVC together. 🔥 PVC and fire safety: debunking myths with solid data In 2024, Reagens participated in key events such as PVC 2024 in Edinburgh, PVC Formulation Europe 2024 in Düsseldorf, and the 4th PVC4Cable Conference in Prague, presenting crucial research of our value chain on the fire safety of PVC cables funded by PVC4cables. 📊 Key findings from the conferences: 🎯 Heat Release Rate (HRR): flame-retardant PVC cables exhibit exceptional performance in terms of HRR, a fundamental variable for fire safety. Controlling HRR helps to slow down flame propagation, reducing the fire risk. 🎯 Carbon Monoxide (CO): CO is the primary cause of inhalation-related fatalities during fires. Research shows that no polymer is more toxic than another—all plastics release CO at similar levels during combustion, making this a universal parameter. 🎯 Smoke Acidity: often cited as a PVC issue by competitors, acidity is actually a secondary parameter. Its real impact on fire safety is limited compared to critical factors such as heat release and CO emissions. 👨🔬 The Role of Reagens? Our R&D team collaborates with industry associations and PVC value chain companies to address these challenges. Our research not only validates the effectiveness of PVC cables but also highlights the shortcomings of alternative materials that often come at higher costs with lower performance. 👉 Want to learn more? 🏆 A historic milestone for the PVC stabilizer industry! Our REAPAK B-TU/1844, manufactured by Reagens Usa Inc. at our Pasadena facility, is the first Calcium-Zinc stabilizer to achieve the prestigious NSF/ANSI Std 14 certification and PPI TR-2 listing. This innovation sets new standards for quality and safety in PVC pressure pipes, bypassing complex and costly tests thanks to its recognition as a pre-qualified ingredient. It’s an unprecedented achievement for similar products, previously reserved only for organo-tin stabilizers. This has been a challenging week for us. I am proud of the performance of the team under personally difficult circumstances. At the end of last week, we celebrated the July 4th holiday while watching the movement of Hurricane Beryl. Before the team left for the holiday, it didn’t look like the site would be impacted by the storm but we had started preparations. On Saturday, it was becoming apparent that we would likely be impacted and a few dedicated operations personnel (Jose Mendiola, Daniel Barragan, Luis Zuluaga and Zeke Caudill) came to the site to complete and verify the site was prepared for the storm. On Sunday, the Hurricane Team met and agreed the safest thing to do was to remain closed on Monday. This was the right decision, as we all have seen, the Houston area was hit by the storm. Right after the storm passed Monday afternoon and it was safe to travel, the assessment team (Robbie Moser, Jose Rivera, Chantel Spretz and Daniel Barragan) arrived at the site to ensure there was no significant damage. Although there was no damage and the site had power, the incoming electrical feed was single phasing which had the potential to ruin every major piece of electrical equipment. Through Robbie and Jose’s diligent efforts, we were able to restore proper power and make the site ready for restart on Tuesday. Throughout the week, the team fought minor issues stemming from the electrical feed issue but all in all, we were back up and running. Every employee was personally impacted by Beryl, however everyone showed their dedication to the company by coming to work under personally difficult circumstances: damaged roofs, flooding, trees and debris scattered everywhere and many are still without power. I am very proud of the resilience of this team.
