The Payers, including health insurance companies, businesses, organizations, and individuals, play a pivotal role in financing and facilitating access to healthcare services. However, disparities in insurance coverage, affordability, and reimbursement practices perpetuate healthcare access and outcomes inequities. Let's delve into the complexities of payer disparities and their impact on diverse patient populations, focusing on underrepresented groups and women. Access to adequate health insurance coverage remains a significant determinant of healthcare access and utilization. According to recent data from the U.S. Census Bureau, racial and ethnic minorities, low-income individuals, and undocumented immigrants are more likely to be uninsured or underinsured compared to their white counterparts, leading to barriers in accessing essential healthcare services, preventative care, and chronic disease management. Disparities in healthcare affordability contribute to inequities in access to necessary medical treatments and services. A study published in JAMA Internal Medicine found that individuals from low-income households and underrepresented communities continue to face financial barriers, such as high deductibles, copayments, and out-of-pocket expenses, which deter them from seeking timely healthcare services and adhering to recommended treatment plans. #payer #healthinsurance #healthequity #healthcare #risehealthcompass #hopeforAmericans

In the intricate tapestry of the healthcare ecosystem, six pivotal players stand at the forefront, shaping its dynamics and outcomes. These entities collectively known as the 6 P's - Patients, Providers, Payers, Pharmaceutical Companies, Pharmacies, and Policymakers - each hold a distinct role yet are interconnected. However, within this interconnected web lies a stark reality of inequities, disproportionately impacting various facets of healthcare access, delivery, and outcomes. Disparities in access to care, driven by factors such as socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, and geographical location, perpetuate unequal health outcomes among populations. By fostering collaboration, advocating for policy reforms and prioritizing health equity in decision-making processes, we can strive towards a more just and inclusive healthcare system where everyone can attain their highest level of health and well-being. #RiseHealthCompass #healthcare #healthequity #policy #hopeforAmericans

Over the last five months, I have never experienced more professional joy. The joy was not a result of my personal accomplishments on the campaign, but instead had everything to do with building a beautiful community. It was an absolute joy listening to countless voters, meeting with local candidates, engaging with community leaders, reviewing strategies, working with our political team, organizing canvass launches, and most importantly working towards a common cause and North Star that was bigger than any one person. Many of you have reached out to me to ask how to keep the momentum going. As I’m focused intensely on closing everything out properly this month, I look forward to engaging with each of you who are interested in ‘Doing Something to Keep the Momentum Going’ in the near future. You can complete the link in comments to express your interest and I will be in touch next month. Please always remember that the best is yet to come… #dosomething #community #purejoy

There are disparities in health, health care, and health care outcomes among underserved communities. •Women and minority leaders in our community are dying prematurely •The underserved community has lack of access to clinical trials •Underrepresented communities are left out of critical conversations that could positively impact on health outcomes, e.g., healthy eating, know your numbers etc. In addition to sharing critical tips for addressing health equity in business, our CEO, Monica McCoy, invites you to join us at RiseHealth Compass as we are creating tech solutions to close the health equity gap. #RiseHealthCompass #healthequity #MonicaMotivatesEnterprise #underrepresented

Heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second globally. Launching RiseHealth Compass marks a full circle moment for our founder and CEO, Monica McCoy, in her personal journey, and for the business imperatives. Growing up in Georgia, Monica dreamed of one day becoming a doctor, specifically a cardiologist. She wanted to be the expert in diagnosing and treating heart conditions. Her career took a different turn, but today she gets to live out her dream of helping individuals prevent and diagnose heart disease. RiseHealth Compass is dedicated to improving all opportunities for our communities, including access to the very best healthcare for those groups that have traditionally been underserved. Our work starts with the data -- because informed is empowered. Know Your Numbers is the first step to improving your health. BP cuffs enable people to monitor their own heart rate, a step towards increasing the ability for everyone to manage their own personal health and well-being. We look forwarding to RISING together as we continue to work towards prevention of heart disease and stroke. #RiseHealthCompass #heartdisease #knowyournumbers #healthandhumanservices #healthequity #bettyricelegacy

National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, observed in July, aims to shed light on the mental health challenges faced by minority communities. It serves as a call to action to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health and promote culturally competent care. The month-long observance encourages open conversations about mental health issues in diverse communities and advocates for equitable access to mental health services. Recognizing the unique experiences and barriers faced by minorities in accessing mental health care is crucial for fostering understanding, empathy, and support, ultimately contributing to improved mental health outcomes for all individuals, regardless of their background. #healthequityinclusion #MinorityMentalHealthAwareness #RiseHealthCompass
