If you’re looking for ways to reduce emissions from your heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) fleet to support your decarbonisation plans, watch the recent LinkedIn event "Bio-LNG: Unlocking the Alternative Fuel’s Potential for Fleets" on demand now: https://lnkd.in/eMtt7pxu In certain countries, electrification offers a direct and effective path to decarbonise light-commercial vehicles. While the adoption of electric trucks is gradually increasing, biofuels play a role in helping HDV fleets to decarbonise without having to change their vehicles. Derived from renewable feedstocks, bio-LNG is a drop-in solution that has the potential to offer 100% reduction in CO2e¹ life-cycle emissions compared to B7 diesel in some areas ² ³ ⁴ ⁵. To find out more about bio-LNG and how it can help you on your decarbonisation journey, watch the recent panel discussion with industry experts from Scania, Dinotrans and Shell. hashtag #BioLNG #Decarbonisation #FleetManagement ¹ CO2e (equivalent) refers to CO2, CH4, N2O ² BioLNG used for Shell Bio-LNG blend is ISCC certified and comes from renewable waste and residue feedstocks, described in Annex IX-A, RED II. ³ The reduced CO2e emissions are calculated by comparing to a GHG baseline intensity of 90 gCO2e/MJ on a Well-to-Wheel basis, which is representative of a European Union market B7 diesel. The carbon intensity of the B7 diesel is calculated by Shell using emission factors from the JEC Well-to-Tank report v5 and Shell internal studies. ⁴ The BioLNG carbon intensity is calculated as per REDII, including the avoided emissions, which means Shell BioLNG is not a zero-emission fuel, because there are emissions along the full life cycle of Shell BioLNG. The net effect is that, over the whole life cycle of fuel production and use, Shell BioLNG emits a 100% less CO2e emissions as compared to market typical fuel, B7 diesel in Europe. ⁵ To achieve the above provided 100% CO2e reduction, the sustainability characteristics (including the feedstock and its associated CI value) are attributed accordingly.

While electric vehicles (EVs) offer a clear path to decarbonisation for many passenger-carrying and light commercial fleet operators, for heavy-duty fleets the route to net-zero is slightly different, as electrification is less feasible in the immediate term. At Shell we believe lower-carbon fuels, like Bio-LNG will play a key role in reducing emissions from trucks. Join us for an upcoming LinkedIn live event to discover how you can unlock the full potential of Bio-LNG for your heavy-duty vehicles as part of your fleet's decarbonisation strategy.

Shell Fleet Solutions reposted this
I had the opportunity to attend #ACTExpo 2024 in Las Vegas and participate in the "Energy Transition Executive Roundtable: Navigating the New Fuel Frontier" . It was a lively conversation with leaders from energy and power sectors where we discussed adapting business models to changing customer preferences, navigating regulations, and forging collaboration to scale new technologies. It was a great platform to highlight our efforts to help our commercial road customers decarbonize their operations. We also had the opportunity to showcase our Shell Starship 3.0 truck at the event through the “Ride & Drive” program. Shell Starship 3.0 is equipped with the new Cummins X15N™ natural gas engine, powered by Renewable Natural Gas and Shell Rotella engine oil designed for Natural Gas Engines. It embodies the strength of collaboration within the commercial road transport industry aimed at reducing emissions for a cleaner, more sustainable energy future – today. #ACTExpo #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #PoweringProgress
