  • The Role of #IoT and #ArtificialIntelligence in Software-Defined Vehicles (#SDVs) The automotive landscape is undergoing a seismic shift, propelled by advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and software-defined vehicles (SDVs). At the forefront of this transformation is DeepRoute.ai, whose CEO Maxwell Zhou envisions SDVs as a gateway to a broader era of robotics powered by artificial general intelligence (AGI). While generative AI (GenAI) is already transforming in-car experiences—such as voice-controlled systems and real-time decision-making—AGI is set to redefine the capabilities of autonomous vehicles. Unlike GenAI, which excels at task-specific outputs, AGI mimics human reasoning, allowing it to generalize knowledge across diverse environments. For instance, AGI could enable a vehicle trained in San Francisco to operate seamlessly in Beijing or London, bypassing the need for constant updates to high-definition (HD) maps. DeepRoute.ai's approach integrates this data to build foundation models, which can extend beyond autonomous driving to broader robotics applications. According to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, “Everything that moves will be robotic,” with automotive leading the charge in this transition.
