The program cultivates a community of innovative and ambitious entrepreneurs who are all highly motivated to support each other’s success. This part-time, primarily virtual experience is perfectly suited for founders looking to hone their entrepreneurial skills, better understand their target customers, and dig deeply into refining the solutions they are offering the world.

We had a great start to the final week of our أنجال ز | Anjal Z Techstars Founder Catalyst Program in Abu Dhabi, powered by the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, with a fireside chat with Kurt Workman, CEO & Co-Founder of Techstars alumni company, Owlet Baby Care! Kurt shared his journey with Owlet Baby Care—from its early days in a garage to going public on the NYSE, to becoming a brand that countless parents trust worldwide. The Anjal Z Founder Cohort has spent 4 weeks immersed in Abu Dhabi's innovation ecosystem, attending events, masterclasses and localization sessions, powered by the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority to bring their solutions to benefit the children and families of the region. Here are a few takeaways that really resonated: 💡 Scaling with Purpose: Kurt emphasized the importance of staying grounded and focused on Owlet’s mission to support infant health and parental peace of mind—even as the company scaled rapidly. A great reminder to all founders that growth should be driven by your “why.” 🚀 Navigating High-Stakes Markets: Developing products in health tech and ECD isn’t for the faint-hearted, especially with regulatory complexities. Kurt’s advice on tackling compliance and building customer trust was invaluable for our founders working in similar spaces. 🔧 Product Diversification and PMF: Kurt highlighted the strategic journey behind Owlet’s product diversification, from the Smart Sock to the Owlet Cam and Owlet Band. Successful diversification isn’t about expanding for expansion’s sake—it’s about enhancing value for your core audience in meaningful ways. 💸 The Techstars #GiveFirst approach: Kurt underscored the value of strategic partners who believe in your mission and finding the best mentors, advisors and partners as you grow. 🌐 Global Expansion: Scaling internationally has been one of Owlet’s biggest achievements, but Kurt shared that each market brings unique challenges—from regulations to cultural differences in childcare.
