UI Ventures reposted this
Last week ended with an unexpected surprise! I entered the Iowa Nurse Innovations Pitch Competition and WON 3rd place!🥉 I pitched the StomaCoach- a customized 3D model of ostomy patients’ body contours from CT Imaging to troubleshoot difficult and unique ostomy pouching situations. This is a patient centered and innovative approach to decreasing trial-and-error when pouching ostomies, preventing peristomal irritation, and making the system work for the patient, instead of a patient enduring the limitations of the system. I was awarded $10,000 to make this concept a reality! Thank you UI Ventures and University of Iowa Office of Innovation for the opportunity to change lives. The Iowa Nurse Innovators Program empowers nurses to turn their ideas into impactful solutions. Open to all Iowa nurses and free to join, this program brings innovation to the point of care, providing tools, guidance, and support to transform ideas into tangible products.
