DC: the Nation's Public Service Capital! This week, 11 experts gathered as part of a Technical Assistance Panel to craft policy recommendations for a Housing Framework for the District's students and early career professionals working in the Public Service Industry Cluster. The Panel highlighted DC's competitive advantage for attracting and retaining these students and professionals, modeled partnerships with private and institutional entities to deliver this housing, and illustrated the imperative to create vibrant and engaging public realms in neighborhoods where there are suitable institutional partners. We are incredibly grateful to our partners in this effort, the team at the DC Office of Planning, for the support of Amazon's Housing Equity Fund, to all those who joined as project Stakeholders on Wednesday, and to our wonderful panelists - Panel Chair Leila Finucane, Michael Abrams, Maya Brennan, Sarah Davidson, Sukirti Ghosh, Marta Goldsmith, Lily Goldstein, Sylke Knuppel, PE, MRED, Toby Millman, Dennis Perkins, Jr, and Walter Ploskon!
