Energy Lawyer | Senior Associate at ENS | Advanced LLM in Energy Law | Co-Founder & Chairperson of the Environmental Lawyers Network of Namibia | Regional Lead for Southern Africa: Women in Renewable Energy

🌟 GH2 Masterclass 👩🎓 What a privilege to be a co-host, as Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE), with GIZ Namibia and Women in Green Hydrogen to host a Masterclass in #GreenHydrogen for Women in the Erongo region, #Namibia. We were joined by about 30 eager-to-learn female professionals from all walks of life - engineers, environmental specialists, accountants, lawyers - and powered through a day of intensive #learning on this emerging industry. While Detlof von Oertzen shared the fundamental principles underpinning #GH2 and the opportunities it offers for Namibia, I highlighted the key legal and bankability aspects impacting the industry. Thereafter I also discussed how #localcontent could be implemented in future and the key considerations for success of such policies. What a great day indeed, and looking forward to engaging with these lovely ladies and any other Namibians who are eager to gain more knowledge about this topic in future 🌻 If you’re interested to learn more about the Southern African Chapter of Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE), please do reach out to me ☀️ #energy #energylaw #thefutureisfemale

Lawyer | Consultant Climate Change-ESG| Activist

When I made the decision to go for a second degree in Law 5 years ago, I did not imagine what it was going to take, the amount of wit, strategy, hard work and resilience it actually required. I have grown professionally, intellectually and emotionally. Somethings are clearer than they used to be including the intersect of the Law and the Environment. There is such a need for Lawyers in the Environmental Sector; from litigating Ecocide to Environmental frameworks and treaties, Negotiations and International Environmental law, ESG Compliance, Reporting Standards, Private Sector contractual work in Energy, Circularity , Climate change, Green financing, Bonds etc. The possibilities are endless including those that have not yet been contemplated. I am on to greater and better impact with this new skill I have acquired. Being a Lawyer, I bring a new level of industry to what I currently do and to new opportunities I will be involved with. I am elated to have been called to Bar and to become a Lawyer. I appreciate all who supported me on this part of the Journey. It has just begun, cheers to greater world changing impact 🥂.

You'll always come across people whose job it is to put you down. They'll tell you you're worthless and will work hard every day to convince themselves and other weak-minded people. But you should concentrate your energy not on proving their point, because your worth doesn't depend on what other people think, it's already within you and its manifestation depends solely on you. Work to achieve your goals and be proud instead of submitting to the judgement of others.
