Premier League clubs are starting to splash the cash ahead of Friday's transfer deadline.

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Federico Chiesa from Juventus. The Italy star becomes the first new player at Arne Slot's disposal after the Reds also signed Giorgi Mamardashvili but loaned him to Valencia.

Manchester United are expected to confirm the signing of Manuel Ugarte imminently and are also in talks with both Juventus and Chelsea over the future of Jadon Sancho. The Blues are also interested in signing a striker, with late deals for Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney still on the table.

However, Chelsea will also be focusing on outgoings, with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Trevoh Chalobah and a host of other players all needing moves before the window slams shut.

Arsenal meanwhile are expected to see Aaron Ramsdale sign for Southampton. The Gunners are also eyeing a replacement for Ramsdale in the shape of Espayol's Joan Garcia.

Southampton close to Ramsdale deal

On the subject of goalkeepers, one who is on the move is Aaron Ramsdale.

The Arsenal shot-stopper was free to find a new club this summer after losing his spot in the team to David Raya - and it's Southampton who have won the race for his services.

The deal - which is a permanent one - is expected to be confirmed imminently.

Forest bid for Kelleher

Liverpool have rejected a part-exchange bid from Nottingham Forest for Caoimhin Kelleher.

The Irishman, 25, is a target for Forest ahead of Friday's transfer deadline.

But The Athletic have revealed that Liverpool have rebuffed a bid consisting of cash and goalkeeper Matt Turner.

The Reds value Kelleher at around £30million but have no desire to sell him.

EFL clubs chase Isiaka

Aldershot, Accrington Stanley and Swindon Town are all chasing non-league hotshot Kareem Isiaka.

The 23-year-old striker scored 18 goals in 24 games for Chatham Town last season and is in demand ahead of Friday night's deadline.

DONE DEAL: Foxes land El Khannouss

Leicester City have completed the capture of attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss.

The Morocco international, 20, joins from Genk and has penned a four-year contract.

Burnley make Flemming approach

Millwall have rejected an approach from Burnley for star man Zian Flemming.

The Clarets, who were interested in Flemming last summer, lodged a loan with an obligation offer for the Dutchman.

Millwall have declined the bid but their Championship rivals are expected to return with a new one.

Arsenal consider Sterling swoop

We know Kingsley Coman is on Arsenal's radar - but it's now been claimed they are also weighing up a late swoop for Raheem Sterling.

That's according to The Independent, who say Arsenal have been offered both players.

Mikel Arteta has made no secret of his admiration for Sterling, who he worked with at Manchester City, but a compromise would need to be reached on wages.

Cooper confirms El Khannouss swoop

Steve Cooper has confirmed a £20m move for Genk’s Bilal El Khannouss is ‘in motion.’

Leicester’s boss says that the attacking midfielder is set to join the Foxes before tonight’s deadline.

The 20-year-old Moroccan international pulled out of training with his current club to push through the deal.

Genk boss Thorsten Fink confirmed the wheels were turning and said: “It was always the plan he would leave this summer.

“Is Leicester the right move? It’s not for me to say. If it feels good for him, it’s okay.”

It is understood the paperwork needs to go through to confirm the deal.

Foxes’ chief Cooper said: “The process is definitely in motion. There’s no point denying that.

“I don’t want to go too early on it. It’s not complete. Let it complete first.”

Millwall strike Ivanovic deal

Mihailo Ivanovic is undergoing a medical at Millwall ahead of a club-record switch.

The Serbian striker, 19, is set to join the Lions from Vojvodina for around €3million (£2.5m).

ICYMI: Arsenal in Garcia talks

Arsenal have opened talks with Espanyol over a move for goalkeeper Joan Garcia.

Esse signs on at Millwall

Millwall have tied Romain Esse down to a new long-term deal.

The England Under-20 international had been in the final year of his deal at The Den.

But the Lions have announced that they have reached an agreement to ensure Esse remains with the club.

Arsenal weigh up Coman swoop

In case you missed it earlier, Arsenal are one of the clubs considering a late move for Kingsley Coman.

The Bayern Munich winger, 28, could leave the German giants before Friday night and has interest from Saudi Arabia.

But The Mail claim Arsenal are also in the frame, though it remains to be seen if they will attempt to beat the deadline and launch a late bid.

Broja to Ipswich is OFF

Ipswich Town's deal to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja has collapsed.

The Tractor Boys had agreed an initial loan move for the Albanian frontman and would have been obligated to buy Broja for £30m had they secured Premier League safety.

However, Broja recently picked up a foot injury in Chelsea training which has now scuppered his move to Portman Road.

The 22-year-old travelled to Suffolk for a medical ahead of Ipswich's 4-1 defeat at Manchester City last weekend but concerns were raised about the issue.

And following further consultation, Kieran McKenna's side have decided to pull the plug on the transfer.

Broja has also attracted interest from Everton, Monaco and AC Milan among others this summer but could now stay put at Chelsea until the January window despite being frozen out of the first-team picture.

Meanwhile, Ipswich have moved onto other targets with Crystal Palace's Odsonne Edouard believed to be a key name of interest.

The Tractor Boys would like to sign Edouard on an initial loan with a £20m purchase option but any deal would likely involve Crystal Palace triggering a one-year extension option within the striker's contract to protect his value as his current deal at Selhurst Park is up next summer.

Southampton eye West Ham double

Southampton are exploring the possibility of signing Maxwel Cornet from West Ham.

Winger Cornet is surplus to requirements at the London Stadium having failed to feature in any of new boss Julen Lopetegui’s first three matchday squads.

It is also understood that a move away for Cornet would free up space for West Ham to complete their move for Paris St Germain midfielder Carlos Soler.

Cornet, 27, has endured a torrid two years at West Ham since joining from Burnley for £17million. He spent virtually the whole of his first season out injured and started only three matches under David Moyes last term.

Saints are also reported to be interested in a second raid on West Ham with a loan deal for their former midfielder James Ward-Prowse.

Wolves sign France defender Meupiyou

It's been in the offing for a couple of weeks now.

But Wolves have finally signed Nantes' teenage defender Bastien Meupiyou.

The 18-year-old joins for a fee of just over £4million.

Sporting director Matt Hobbs says:

"We're very good at looking in that emerging talent market and I think Bastien’s got a huge amount of potential.

"Obviously, he had some time out last season with a knee injury, so we'll take our time with him, but he has an incredibly high ceiling and we're excited to help develop him.”

Another Chelsea deal

Tino Anjorin has completed a permanent transfer to Empoli. The midfielder spent some time on loan at Portsmouth last season and was involved with the first team squad at Stamford Bridge when Thomas Tuchel first arrived at the club.

Romelu Lukaku completes transfer

Romelu Lukaku has completed a transfer to Napoli from Chelsea in a deal said to be worth £25m. The deal comes three years after signing for the Blues for almost £100m.

Everton updates

Sean Dyche has provided the latest on Neal Maupay ahead of a move to Marseille. The Everton boss said: "There is a possible situation where he will be leaving but nothing is confirmed. He is travelling over to see if the deal can happen."

And on a possible deal for Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala: "He is a player who is making his way over but there are still details to do with the deal. We have got a chance of getting him and seeing if the deal can be done.

"It is important to add any players. We are trying to be active and we have been as active as we could be."

Osimhen talks continue

Chelsea are remain in talks for Victor Osimhen today, per Sky Sports. A number of conversations around a possible move are taking place despite the hefty offer made to the forward from the Middle East.

The Blues required Osimhen to agree to their wage structure but could agree to an obligation to buy in a loan deal having previously been insistent on a temporary move only.

Albrighton retires

Former Leicester City and Aston Villa ace Mark Albrighton has announced his retirement.

"Now that this day has arrived, I find myself filled with gratitude and peace," Albrighton said on Instagram.

"From the moment I kicked my first ball as a young boy, my dream was always to play for Aston Villa. To have achieved that once would have been more than enough.

"What followed was a decade (with Leicester City) of extraordinary moments that I could have never imagined in my wildest dreams.

"I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported me along the journey. Without you, none of this would have been possible."

Chiesa confirmed

Guehi to Newcastle off?

The Telegraph report that a Marc Guehi move to Newcastle is now 'highly unlikely', with Crystal Palace remaining firm in their £70m valuation. The deal currently 'looks off'.

Irons open to exits

West Ham have been open to offers for Nayef Aguerd, Maxwel Cornet and James Ward-Prowse this summer, according to Sky Sports. The trio are currently set to remain at the London Stadium however.

The former trio trained with the club today, while Ward-Prowse featured in the Carabao Cup last night.

McTominay arrives in Naples

The Manchester United midfielder has arrived in Italy ahead of his Napoli medical and appears to have been well received by supporters. The Scotland international was swarmed by fans upon his airport arrival.

Wolves' "tricky" window

Gary O’Neil admits Wolves have endured a “tricky” transfer window and believes players returning from loan have played a part in refreshing his squad.

Wolves have lost both captain Max Kilman and talisman Pedro Neto for big fees during the window and are still looking to replace them before it shuts on Friday. Wolves earned their first win of the new season as returning loanee Goncalo Guedes struck in either half to secure a 2-0 victory over Burnley and set up a Carabao Cup third-round clash with Brighton.

O’Neil stressed the important role the likes of Guedes and Daniel Podence have had in returning to the squad from loan spells. He said: “I think those boys who have come back from loan are important to us, especially with how tricky we have found the transfer window.

“The transfer window hasn’t gone quite how we had liked so far and you rely heavily on those boys who add to the group we already have and I think they have done that very well. Daniel, Guedes, Chiquinho showing moments again tonight – they have been the ones that have been able to add some sort of freshness to the group.

“I watched some of his (Guedes) stuff while he was away – he can do that number nine or 10 really well, I’m sure he can play off the side but for me his qualities are more suited to someone who is keen to run in behind and link things.”

Chelsea's striker search

Striker Nicolas Jackson faces an anxious wait to find out if he will remain Chelsea’s first-choice No.9 behind this month, with Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney still on the Blues’ shopping list.

Enzo Maresca said: "I had a meeting with Nicolas yesterday but just about the good things, the amount of good things he is doing with us on the pitch. Also, I don't think Nicolas needs a chat. He is our nine. He is our striker at this moment. We are very happy with him.

"The reason why I sat with him yesterday is because I wanted to say how many good things he has done with us since we started, so we are very happy with Nicolas. At the moment, that is the only thing we can say."

Everton latest

Everton still busy in the transfer window despite Sean Dyche saying earlier this week it would be 'unlikely' they make any moves.

They're in talks with Lyon to sign Orel Mangala on loan with an obligation to buy but not over the line yet. Neal Maupay will be leaving before Friday's deadline.

Marseille on the verge of agreeing loan with £3.36m obligation to buy. Everton paid £15m for him but he's scored just one goal for the club and spent last season at Brentford.
